Cats can be very therapeutic....except I think that from what
I've seen, he is one of those Cool cats.

When is the annual "Everybody's finally got there car done" weekend
long show at Somma's? Combine it with a big Norwin event.

Do you have the dipstick already? I have the big block version of this pan and that sounds like a great idea! I would be interested in details.

Okay, Here's what I decided to go with for a pan mounted Dipstick. It's a Lokar midnight series dipstick for a Ford 302 application since it has 1/4" NPT fitting installed already(Part # LOK-XED-5017) and a Fragola Performance series 1/2" to 1/4" reducer (part # FRA-491205-BL) both from Summit Racing. I also picked up Summit brand Billet Aluminum Chevy small block Adjustable Timing pointer to use with my timing cover, of course I'll have to modify or even remake the mounting base to work with my setup, but I knew that from the beginning, so no big deal or surprise.

Andrew

yes, its marked...you adjust the full level length at the handle end, measure the length, cut the cable and tighten the set screw.

I had considered it but I had a $20.00 off Summit in store coupon and the part was $26.97, I thought for $6.97 it's not worth the time and material to start from scratch, so I will use the pointer and design the rest around it for my application.

Not at all. Buying an assembly for a single piece of the assembly is right up my alley. I bought the entire rear hatch with glass from a Chrysler crossfire just for the rear spoiler mechanism.
Andrew

I stopped by the engine builder today to test fit the parts I bought yesterday, the dipstick tube will work perfectly after I shorten the wire dipstick for the level marks that will also be done, I might have to add a spacer between the dipstick bracket and header bolt flange for spark plug wire clearance. As far as the Timing pointer.... all I'm going to do is Mill it down so it fits tighter to the cover and lets me see the short timing marks then drill and tap a couple holes in the cover and secure it. Hit the easy button on both

forget the Chevy part, i cant believe you scratched the damper! :-D

Didn't notice that before...Must have been the engine builder that did it, it was in the box when I gave it to him. It will never be seen once I add the KRC pulley system.

Its not a cheby part if it has been "Rossified"!
Andrew

I can agree with that, I look at it this way, if you have an egg and it hatches into lets say a bird, its no longer an egg anymore...right ? It's now a bird, so my part is no longer Chevy.

Okay, after a couple minutes on the mill and the Timing pointer is now "Rossified". The KRC parts showed so now I can start the mock up phase, I still need a few more parts to complete the system but will start with the power steering and build from there, that's the cool part of the system I can add various pulleys and spacers and make any configuration I need with there R-Lok system. The 2 Red Top Optima battery's are patiently waiting for their installation. Enjoy the pictures and as always comments are welcome .

I love the battery tray! How are you holding them down??

Mark, look close at the front lip, they will be held down by a bracket that clamps against the battery's lower lip .... front and back.
