73' B3 340 Duster pro touring build

I think I actually have those covered....so I should be good.

1. I'm always broke so there is no money to keep in my sneaker

2. The Military makes sure this is covered and them some

3. I don't do anything Wal-Mart

4. I have an extra tow hook that I won't be using....just in case

5. I Always come well stocked

\\:D/\\:D/\\:D/\\:D/\\:D/\\:D/\\:D/\\:D/\\:D/\\:D/

wow...nice! I love it...

I had some time to work up the motor plate, I fixed the gaps between the heads and the front plate and trimmed the overhang again between the heads and motor plate, recessed the motor mount ears so that everything is flush..and finally milled off the excess material at the bottom and inserted 5/16"-18 Heli-coils in the 12 holes that hold the 3 pieces together for extra strength. I will replace the bolts in the picture with Button heads.

I also had another Test fit date with the front bumper and the car...everything fit nice on the ends but I decided to bring it home and add 3/4" to the back edge and then will grind to fit the factory contour in the Fender within 1/4". I also took the opportunity to mock up the front spoiler.

Ross, Is the motor plate/timing cover program saved in your mill
so you could duplicate it, or a variation of it, if somebody wanted
to buy one?

Looks very high-tech.....No problem standing out with that setup!

That will definatley be a one off piece, due to the cost involved (even though I had the 100lb chunk of Aluminum already) and given the fact that I want as many parts as possible of this car to be one off's, I will not be duplicating it. Heck I have a Very Cool Billet Timing cover for sale in the Mechanical parts section and nobody wants it at a good price, the cost of selling this would have everybody running for cover.

I also discovered a small problem last night while test fitting the spoiler....it wants to occupy the same space as the retractable Tow hook, so the dilema is do I remove and scrap the tow hook or notch the spoiler for clearance so it tucks up nice and tight under the bumper......decisions, decisions.
You can see in the photo that the right side is lower than the left I kept asking Tom to make raise the right side, he kept saying "its touching the bumper mounts already on both sides". After close inspection,
I realized he was right, it was crooked because of the tow hook mounting brackets.

Today I decided to modify my front spoiler I just recieved from Spoilers by Randy so that it would be able to be used with the Retractable Tow hook hanging from the right bumper bracket. Since I didn't have the required Two mounting tabs on the lower radiator support so I decided to mount it to the front bumper and added 3 more mounting points for a total of Five making it very sturdy.

I decided to change my motor mount ears, I make a shorter and raised version after a conversation with HemiDenny. (compared to the last picture of the old version). I need to redrill the bottom outside mounting bolt on the timing cover and shave off the timing mounting tabs along the bottom. I also decided to make a passenger side edelbrock head spacer. Since one of the main purposes of the timing cover was to eliminate the dreaded overhang of the Edelbrock head on the driver side, so now thats accomplished the passenger side looked out of place. Here is a mocked up test piece before I make the .890" final product. I probally have the edelbrock script and info lazer etched in the spacer plate so once it's all complete it will look "Factory". I also put together a mounting stand to re-align the engine and Slammer/Super Slammer k frame when ever needed.

Time to address another issue I've known about since the k frame design phase last year. The TTi B body headers and the Milodon pro touring oil pan want to occupy the same piece of automobile real estate. My first thought was to replace the 1 7/8" tube that hits the pan but a much easier solution is to notch the pan since Milodons trademarked "gold "color is going to be removed and redone in an Aluminum powdercoat it's no big deal to modify it.

Ross,

I like the look of the spoiler and how you mounted it. I want a spoiler on my car and would probably have to mount it the same way with the duster bumpers being the way they are and me not having that mount on the radiator area

I like the motor it looks great. You will be purring down the road soon.

Thanks,
My initial thought was just to weld a couple tabs to the "New" lower radiator support before paint but the two mounting points didn't seem like like that was enough. Ive got some other plans for the motor that will keep adding to the WTF look.

Ross,

My build has almost reach the limit of my blown out of per portion budget. So my bang has reached it's limits, but I enjoy seeing your twist. I must admit I wish my engine was shinier but it has a wtf look of its own.

Timothy,
If I had a 6.1, I think that would be plenty of WTF or WOW factor, you'll be fine without the bling. I have been researching multi port EFI with 2 or 3 billet throttle bodies to match up with the front billet stuff to balance everything out. More on that later........

Ross....looks good.

I can see your car at Carlisle next year (hopefully).
