Birth of the Blue Missile

-
Hey Andrew, could you just hurry up and finish the damn car?!? LOL I can't wait to see it done, it's going to be one Badda$$ ride...nice work!

Why should I hurry up and finish? So O'bastard can tell me I didn't build it?
I cant wait to get the engine compartment painted, that's a huge milestone.
After that the rest of the car -doors and front quarters get primed and on to the hood scoop with its actuators.
Andrew

Inner fender mod looks killer...looks like you could now about drag that chin spoiler on the pavement

one more pic from the inside of the wheel well.

Andrew,

Been following for some time now (at least a year+) with all the other mods you've been doing I forget what color are you going to paint the car? Or even if you ever decided yet?

Freekin Awesome mods brother!

Joe,
the short story is Kirker Black Sapphire with candy apple blue stripes over silver flake using the pattern from the original MoPar Missile.
Andrew

Denny,
I don't know if this is how you envisioned the install but the upper shock mounts are part of the car now.
Other than that I spent the entire day in the engine compartment cleaning things up and reinforcing the frame with some 3/16" plate. I also finished the steering col support bracket.

Andrew,
Took the hot sauce you sent me to the boys at the Nats....too hot for most but a fellow member (62BT409) liked it so much he claimed it for his own. Thanks again, wish you could have joined us.

final bit of welding in the engine compartment. next Al filler and epoxy primer.

I should have known it wouldn't be just a solid color with a stripe. Sounds awesome!!!

here is the progress on the engine compartment. a little filler and some black epoxy primer. Next a little sanding and then color and clear.

wow Andrew...I just noticed/realized how high you raised the tunnel.....rots of room

Anybody that does this, like Andrew and Ross, is effectively
"channeling" the body like guys do to '32 Fords when they cut
"channels" in the bodies to allow them to drop down lower on
the frame.

A unit body is different but it is the same principle and I declare
them the pioneers.

Good job boys!

Denny, thats in case I hit a smart car- the drive train and the smart car will come out the back of the vehicle and no one in my car will be hurt!
The tranny pan bottom is level with the bottom of the frame rails, and its a big tranny.
Andrew

OK! I got the first coat of clear on the engine bay. I have to deal with a couple of runs and shoot a light second coat and the K member can go back in. Its mostly black with an overabundance of rainbow and blue micro-flake in it. Remember guys this really is still a driver.

Hey Andrew can you give me a part number and location to buy the bulk head connector your using I need one for my build I'm hiding most of the wireing and that would help a lot thanks

Hey Andrew I was wanting to know if you could clue me in on the part number and a location to buy the bulkhead connector your using
on your build I'm trying to hide most of the engine and head light wiring on my build and that would solve the problem I'm having what I'm doing is separating the head light wiring from the engine wiring so head light wiring will be coming out under the drivers fender and engine wiring will come out at the back of the engine and down to be routed along the oil pan thanks in advance if your willing to help

Hey Mate,

Can we see a photo of the car at its final ride height? Whats the distance from the bottom of the front frame rail (where the k frame bolts are) to the ground.

cheers,.

Lee

Lee,
there is 4.5" of clearance at the frame rails under the car not the door sill. the front spoiler has 6.5" of clearance.
Andrew

Andrew, what is your clearance at the rocker? Your car looks lower than mine but I am at 5". I want to see it on level ground... Nice work on everything man!
