What's that you say??

A chapter 38 of
CAR HUNT! FABOZENE:cool:
is possible soon???!!!

Didn't that FABOZENE stop publication and shut down like so many other fine American institutions???

I heard the owner got busted for making unlicensed FABO
CAR HUNT! FABOZENE:cool:
T-Shirts!!
Well, I heard the owner was busted for repopping 64 dart headlight rings without a license.......:D
Worst yet though, he was selling them for only $50 each commenting, "I only did it for the fine Americans who need headlight rings but couldn't afford the $350.00 price on those imports".
While he was being led away in handcuffs he could be heard yelling in an angry voice to all who would listen...
"You think that's bad, I got plans to repop 64 Dart taillights too for only $50.00 each too, unlike your fancy imports for $350.00 each!!"
"I just have to do it!! 64 Dart owners can't afford those high import repop prices!!!"

Anyway, if I hear form the owner we could be going to look at a push button Plymouth!!:glasses7:

Will the silent owner of
CAR HUNT! FABOZENE:cool:
be released?

Will he generate cheap repops for the entire free world?

Will he let his
CAR HUNT! FABOZENE:cool:
go?

Don't know.
Guess we'll have to stay tuned for chapter 38 of
CAR HUNT! FABOZENE:cool:

Now, for a musical interlude while we wait.......

Hey, while you're at it, do you mind doing a few '63 Dart taillight lenses? Oh, and I almost fergot (heh heh), early Valiant headlight rings. They fit '63-5 ya know?

If you ever make down to Louisville, give me a shout.......... By the way if you ever come across any 4 lug 4 1/2 bolt pattern 13 inch rims, they where on some of the early novas, give me a shout, need'em for my 1962 13' Yellowstone camper..... and you can check out the junk I have laying around...

Sorry.
The people who listed the 64 Valiant were sketchy at best to get ahold of. Left a bunch of emails some answered (Only after sending the scam alert up ther flag pole)
Left my phone number each time, they never called. ABB left an email too and they were hinting around about wanting to know what our offer was like they were running an off line auction only to pick the person who offered the most $$ before contacting them with further info.
Supposedly listed for father. Father was supposedly being fowarded all emails but not answering. Finally called last night around 10PM!, for me that just pisses me off anyway. 10PM is too late to call people on the phone.

If anyone wants to navigate their landmine sale here is the link;
http://dayton.craigslist.org/cto/2623607249.html

I bailed just because the whole thing was so shady, no comunication, and not willing to give ANY info. They wouldn't even tell me if they had a title or not!! The whole set up was Bull **** at best.
Here is the last of the emails copy before the Father finally called too late.

TO THEM LAST EMAIL;

My wife and I are over it now.
Money went to another project (I just bought a pair of GEO METROS that need some welding) and ca$h won't be back in my hands again for a couple of weeks.
Have to chalk this one up to you snoose you loose.
Me lost for almost missing this ad for almost a month, yall lost for not letting me spend my cash on your valiant when I needed to buy a project.
Good Luck and Good by.

Hello John!

I'm sorry to get back to you so late. My father, is selling the car and I just put it up on Craigslist for him as a favor. I have been forwarding all of your emails to him, but he apparently has not contacted you back.

So, I will give you his cell phone number so that you can reach him asap and ask him all of your questions. Again I am so sorry to get back to you this late. I believe you are his number one bid right now, so things look very good for you!! (This is not legal on CL, they are running an off line auction here, it aint ebay!)

His cell is: his number finally, ABB and I were already toast by now on it...

Please call him tomorrow and he will answer any questions you have! Thanks so much!!

Again, still interested with rust and all.
As long as you have title asking price not a problem.
I was just trying to tell you the rust would be no problem, I deal with it in the common areas all the time.
Have cash, have auto transport truck, will travel.
What's with the reluctance to sell to or call me?
My money is just as green as everyone elses and besides, I am well known for restoring 60's and 70's A Body Mopars (Darts, Scamps, Valiants, Dusters, etc) and have the parts, time and know how to do it!
I am also a member of forabodiesonly.com (21K plus members worldwide and growing) and continually publish my restores.
John 812-926-my number here If you don't call by tomorrow, I'll figure this as a scam and you can forget my offer, name, and number!!

If you have sold already, please remove your ad.
Thanks for your time, but mine is starting to be waisted.

Well, that's it for this edition of
CAR HUNT! FABOZENE:cool:

Better Luck next time. Well, guess I'll start welding on the 2 metros (his blue, hers red) LOL! Hers only has slight miss but runs and drives. His needs fuel pump. Both need welding repairs made to the front ends. Well at least they fit in my heated garage to be worked! Winter projects! I told ABB that I thought the King Midget was bigger than the metros!

Metro is a tiny car. Heck I bet you could almost get both in the garage at the same time.

LOL!
No kidding!
I just never have any luck with chebbys though.
They always screw me in the end.:banghead:
I'll get the red one up in the air and see if I can even get a grinder in there to strip paint where it needs metal welded.
:glasses7:

I like 'em, not really chebby's, Daewoo I think, so not bad luck, tough little gas sippers.

LOL!
I saw an ad on CL for one that ended with;
"This thing makes gas, you have to pump it out"!!
:D
They are really holding value on resale. Most have rusted lower A frames on front ends. Both of ours do. I will be welding on the red one this weekend!
I saw one selling for $800 with a bad motor, most running ones with bad front ends are going for 12-18 hundred.

Ours are 3 cylinder engines! wierd but cool in a strange unfamilar way! LMAO!!
Just slightly bigger than my lawn tractor.

Thought I saw a chebby bow tie on hood emblem?
Daewoo is a good thing!

Not Daewoo, but Suzuki. Yeah that Suzuki. Up here in Canada they were available as Geo Metro from GM dealers or Suzuki Swift at Suzuki dealers.

Oh Cool!
Suzuki even better! LOL

When I was across the pond in the early 80's, the RAF had a bunch of the Suzuki SUV's. Rode in one to a "football" soccer match that I ended up subbing in due to the RAF base team being 1 shy of a player!
Ended up bloody up a nose on the other team by accident. Got a warning but the RAF guys thought it was too cool. My head hurt from the guys front teeth marks going into the top of my skull!
LOL
Good Times!:D

Nice fabrication.

Thanks!
It was the cheapest easiest way I could think of to get R done!
I got the metal for free from Yard Dawg.
It was either this way or go and buy the 2" tube needed then remove all the old, then install new 2". Major pain to get whole 7'6" piece installed in one piece without deck removal.
You can't imagine how long it took me to plan this move out!
LOL!!:D

It was the easiest way I could think of doing it short of deck removal.
I'm just old and lazy.

Wow Thank you 64Dart for the good reads and awesome adventure it took me 2 days and almost 6 hours to read this thread and enjoy ( Im a big guy and had to stop for snacks) but i really enjoyed the ride with ABB, poptart or popdart, yarddog, and all the other fine characters along the way , I was almost upset to see it end,but heck I have to get ready to go to a meat shoot-turkey shoot anyway ,I look forward to reading more of your threads in the future and Thank You Mrfttmuscle/Frank:cheers:

Got a spool of wire.
After doing this and then under deck on front support, I ran out of wire again this evening welding on a red metro! LOL!
Not bad for a 2 day weld repair, filler, prime, paint job.
Moving onto the metro now.
