Cooper Cobra vs BFG Ta's on 2nd gen cuda

You know what I want? I want Goodyear to bring back the Eagle ST. Although they were pretty hard much like the BFG tires. I also want tire manufacturers to bring back the outlined white letters. They looked really tough on muscle cars and hot rods.

FYI the ones you are using are 64-66. The ones I showed are correct for 67 and 68 Plymouth's. The car having or not having dog dish is irrelevant, it's having the correct year or cap you are most fond of that is. Just letting you know.

It’s not irrelevant to a conversation where you misidentified the caps, and made claim about what the car”should” have.

Should have for year.. Not should have from trim code or options available, hell over half of us do owner taste and choices on what we do and don't want. From a distance they looked like Dodge Caps. Still they are 64-66 caps. Your car is a 67.

Wow that’s old school!

The Scamp was rolling on Eagle ST’s from 1993 to 2009 which were replaced with BFG’s until 2024 and is now rolling on Cooper’s.

In fact, my spare tire is still an Eagle ST that I had swapped onto the spare steelie rim when I had the BFG’s installed.

None of that is news to me.

Fronts - 7 yr old BFG t/a 225/60/15 - timing out before wearing out - going to try Generals - altimax rt45 - don't know what to expect - they don't look great but rate better in surveys for what thats worth - wholesale - a pair for a little more than the cost of one BFG - we shall see.

I have always had good luck with BFG's and never had a white letter issue of them browning, but I stay on top of them too and keep them white. Seems like if they ever get that browning started, then it stains them pretty well. If I find anything, I will surely share. Also, I have seen and talked to others in the show fields thar have custom white letter kits on their tires from a company called TredWear. They offer several font types and height letter kits to say about anything you want them to say. Great for custom styles verbiage.
Good luck!

Yeah brown letters have been a non issue here as well. Simplest of fixes.....
I've no issues with BFG, but I do remember a little "skating" when driving in the rain.

There are plenty of blackwalls and whitewalls to choose from. Even some red line and blue line. But I can find zero in a white letter tire that size, Steve.

The only thing I can think of is to go to a 215, OR drop to a 14" wheel.

At least I have all winter to finger this out....I still gotta drum up 15" steelies for the front .

have you checked speedway? i thought i saw some on there the other day when i was uh... doing research... (looking at 9" rears)
i ran into the same problem as you're having in that i just was tire shopping last week. smallest 15" cooper makes for the cobra is the 215 and it's way too tall to tuck in on the early cars with stock rim/backspace. i've got aftermarket rims with crap back space, so was even more jammed up and pivoted in an entirely different direction.

anyway, since we're all spending your money may i suggest something like this?

Thanks JYH. Lol, I saw those tires listed elsewhere for big $$. Never heard of them before. In Canuck bucks those would be outrageous lol

67 Barracuda, for what it's worth.
Coopers all around.

Rear steel/dog dish with 255/60-15.
Front steel/dog dish are 15x6, backspace 3.75, offset +6 mm with 215/65-15.

The fronts replaced 14x6 Cragars, 4.125 backspace with 215/70/R14.

Essentially, the same size front tire: Tire Size Calculator
