Dartin for Divorce

Adapter purchased. Line installed 50%. Trying to figure out clamp situation from fuel filter to carb with the steel braided line as I only got 2 fancy ones with the steel braided line kit.

She runs! And no leaks! But we were having trouble with my timing so we will figure that out tomorrow.

Doesn't look as nice as this! I need a longer stud for the carb/air filter though. Tomorrow all I have to do is drop in the radiator (2 minutes), yank that mechanical choke wire out of the grommet, install battery and attach the exhaust to the header collectors.

I also got some wire loom to clean up the wires on the firewall.

I don't think that Monster will give you the octane boost you might need for the engine - just saying

Oh my guages work! 60psi of oil pressure when running, apparently that's pretty good! Heres some more engine bay ****. I think I'll eventually need silver ac compressor and pulleys. That will look nice! Plus a cleaned up ps pump and a nice steering unit... those little things are damn expensive, like 850 from bergman...

Anyone know how to clean up the valve covers and air cleaner cover a little more? I cleaned them but they seem to be dust magnets like the rest of the car lol.

Rumble Rumble! We are done! Mechanical guages work great! Idling at 900 and boy am I excited to start laying some rubber!

Thanks @70aarcuda and all my friends in here for the help!

Temp stays at 180 which is good and oil pressure about 55-60 when it's hot. Right now it only has water in the engine and the oil is VR1 Valvoline 20W-50. She likes it thick :p

we still got some final tuning up to do.....had to compromise on the initial timing to keep the total around 35.....He has an electronic distributor that was made by mallory for MP....I have a few of those and going to install one those fbo iginiton plates in it and then swap it out with his....then get the timing set and let him drive it around and see how it runs....

otherwise it is a very nice sounding 340....also most some as fast as a 360...lol......

Great job it sounds awesome and ready to rumble and have fun

Yes definitely ready to take it out and have a little fun! Now if I can just keep myself from taking it apart again... I need to stop looking at tc's and just doing some interior freshening up so I can keep driving it longer than a month :steering:I think I should make a floor for my trunk and get a tire mounted on the spare rim and get that set in the trunk. I also need to get another door handle and to fix my blinkers. See there is always something that needs to be done on these ol' cars.

Almost... I mean unless I find bigger tires for the rear end I don't think this mutt can handle a 360 :p

She idles great...but doesn't drive... lol. It feels like the trans is slipping, and it also doesn't want to shift to 2nd. I added 1.5qts of trans fluid and it still does the same thing. In 1st, 2nd and reverse

Is your cable to the transmission adjusted properly?

It was... before I took it apart. Maybe I'll need to mess with it again.

Edit- its looks and feels adjusted next to the carb. Something is out of whack. I'll have to mess with it more later. I have another final exam tomorrow morning.

If it shifted fine before this last disassembly session, then the kickdown cable may need some adjustment.

Should I loosen it? I tightened it and the car didnt want to move at all without really giving it some gas.

I did realize the back piece of the lockdown cable wasnt seated all the way. So maybe it does just need to loosened a little bit now.

It sounds really really good though...

Follow Lokar's instructions. But I found that even if you do, there may be fine adjustments needed later.

I think I tightened it to much. I will download the instructions and look them over today though. Right before I took the car apart it was shifting smooth as butter.

Mounted these. I need to get some wire to wire all 3 of them up. I'm assuming they have lights, which is why all 3 have wires.
