Have you heard any successful stories with cal tracs? Are you running a drag radial or just a street tire?
I'm running 295/60/15 drag radials, original slant 6 springs, clamped at the front, sliders and 3 way adjustable drag shocks. Drag shocks on the front and v8 torsion bars.Have you heard any successful stories with cal tracs? Are you running a drag radial or just a street tire?
This was my 7.183/106.5MPH 3rd pass. You can hear me get off the pedal twice when coming off the line. I'm sure my 60' was probably 2 seconds or worse. Engine pops a couple of times also (that is concerning) and then there is a huge backfire after I cross the line and let off the gas completely. Also on this run I was close to 12psi according to my logs. I think at 107MPH in the 1/8 I must be pushing close to 600HP. What do you guys think? Not bad for a JY 5.9 Magnum.
That's a very good idea. I guess I could try them and if they don't work, sell. What shocks do you run with yours? I'm currently using the Competition Engineering 3 ways.Have you considered super stock springs? They work great on my Dart and a lot cheaper than a caltrac set up. My 60 ft has been in the 1.50s which would put you far into the the 6s 1/8th mile.
I also run those shocks. If you don't like the jacked up or stink bug look of the SS springs just run lowering blocks. I run a 1 inch on the drivers side and 2 inch on the passenger side. Keeps her level and low, spring still seem to work as advertised. That's a very good idea. I guess I could try them and if they don't work, sell. What shocks do you run with yours? Damn nice run. With that mph you have the Ability to run some 6.30-6.40 in the 1/8.6.90/105mph

I'm a little leery of my lean AFRs under boost
Thanks. It's not a sanctioned IHRA/NHRA track. Seatbelt, DOT tires, helmet if faster than 8.0. That's it.They let you run 6.90s with no roll bar? Nice numbers by the way!
22" 3 core Champion with the HHR electric fan. Before swapping to your new rad - did you have a 22" radiator or 26". Interested in what you were using for a fan setup
I'm guessing due to the added heat in the engine compartment with a turbine cranking in there, you had to change the system out. Before you turbo'd the car that system was sufficient?22" 3 core Champion with the HHR electric fan.
Actually it always seemed to struggle to keep it cool even when it was NA with semi fenderwell headers. This BMW radiator does a much better job.I'm guessing due to the added heat in the engine compartment with a turbine cranking in there, you had to change the system out.
