I'm just curious about the VR advance If my timing at 4000 is off by 2° Do I add 2° to the factory 17.5 to make it 19.5 or do I erase the 17.5 and just put 2 in the handheld.
From my understanding, you would put 2 in the handheld.I'm just curious about the VR advance If my timing at 4000 is off by 2° Do I add 2° to the factory 17.5 to make it 19.5 or do I erase the 17.5 and just put 2 in the handheld.
Interesting find on the Chevelle forum regarding Fitech PCV Vacuum port. Seems the PCV port only feeds one side of a divided plenum dual plane manifold. The Crankcase fed PCV vapor would then only impact some cylinders?

What are your thoughts? I think I will pull pcv vacuum from both the 3/8 vacuum ports, so that vapours feed both sides of the intake?
Ken[/QUOTE
I read that. I was thinking if cutting the divider down would help?
Well.. that's customer service... Gene Wagner called me back while he is at SEMA, to discuss this concern with me.. That's pretty good.
He strongly suggests that the PCV valve system should equally distribute crankcase vapors to the entire motor. Seemed to think that Using both 3/8 vacuum ports at the same time would be beneficial. So that will be the plan.. soon as my Dual Flow valve gets here next week.
Hey Ken, I have snooze a bit on this thread but reading through your last Few posts. Does your center divider have an "equalization port" in the divider? Or completely separate dual planes? Or am I misreading entierly?lol Just curious. Your goal is to not only pull vac reference from one bank?problem is I already use a four hole spacer. for fitment issues.. Which probably worsens my situation.
If using both fitech vacuum ports don't work I will drill into the spacer on both sides and then use them both
Hi my intake is a mopar dual plane .divided in the center. I do not think there is an equalization port.Hey Ken, I have snooze a bit on this thread but reading through your last Few posts. Gotcha! My initial thought would be to lower the center divider slightly. There have been numerous articles written over the years showing it adds a little bit of power. And equalizes the two sides. Or..I see the skinny edelbrock plate posted above which would effectively do the same thing. That would be the easiest way to make sure you weren't only pulling from one bank.Hi my intake is a mopar dual plane .divided in the center. I do not think there is an equalization port.
I want the controlled leak of the pcv to bring crankcase vapors to both sides of the intake. if the FiTech throttle body pulls from 1 bore only as indicated in another members post, then I would think the air fuel ratio would be different from 4 cylinders to the other set. ??

Hey just want to let everyone know that there's a "fitech owners group"started on facebook. Lots of knowledgeable people on there just helping each other out.
Even Cody (fitechs technician) has joined the group from his personal facebook to answer any questions we might have.
I know lots of guys have a tough time getting a response from fitech. With Cody being part of the group we are getting answers right away. Even people with warrenty concerns are getting The help they need, and taken care of.
The more people we have the better.
Spoke to support. My unit is going back for an RMA. Disappointed but at least the support is very good.
I saw your post on their FB reviews. What did you do to get a response? I feel like my unit got lost in a blackhole. I can't get a single acknowledgement from Fitech. Thank you. Beautiful car BTW!Here my set up slowly coming along. Got to Finnish pluming the nitrous. Waiting on header gaskets as well.

Quick update. Just got off the phone with JEGS, where I bought the unit. JEGS customer support validated my own observations. "FITECH support is terrible", they said. JEGS doesn't have a lot of recourse since I sent the unit back to the mfr, but the lady was nice enough to fire off an email to FITECH with the hopes that a JEGS email would have more weight than mine. Guess what? I immediately got a response through the Facebook IM. FITECH claims they were "waiting on an ecu which they are receiving tomorrow" and will be sending back my unit tomorrow or the day after. So, updating my post with a little rant. I sent the unit back. It was received by Fitech on Nov 8th. Cody told me on the phone that they usually process RMAs in 3-4 days. Ok, it's been a little more than 3-4 days and even at this point I would still accept if the unit was to arrive at the end of the month, but communication from these people is terrible. I've sent emails, tried calling, left voicemails, even sent a PM through their Facebook page and no response. I understand that they are busy and are maybe back ordered. That's a wonderful problem to have, especially for a new business but they need to staff up. And the very last thing they should be doing is letting all of their dirty laundry air on Facebook and allowing social media to be their support forum. That is a terrible business/customer service model. They need to step up their game on customer documentation, a knowledge base and maybe their own (and moderated) support forum. //rant off
