How did you install the driver's side Z bar ball stud? I'm doing this swap now.
Thanks guys!
Thanks guys!
Here is a photo (looking in from the driver side wheel well) showing the 67 and up position of the ball stud mount. Some more info.
correct z bar for early a body SB 4spd
So if I get this part from Brewers, and I swap it for the existing part, the 67 pieces will bolt up?Simple answer you bolt it on. You are going to want to use the correct early A mount for the swap. Save yourself a lot of time and call brewers. that way you can answer all the questions needed in one conversation instead of a thousand posts here.

No.So if I get this part from Brewers, and I swap it for the existing part, the 67 pieces will bolt up?
I am using the 10.5 bell. OK, so the modification is on the bell side not the frame side. I'll get hold of Brewers tomorrow. Thanks! No.
You're not going to use '67-up parts, you're going to use '64-'66 parts. The '67 and later parts are a completely different arrangement. They don't interchange, so put those out of your mind.
The factory bellhousing for your car was a cast-iron unit for a 9.5" clutch. If you're trying to use a later 10.5" bellhousing, that's another reason to call Brewer's. They have the engine-side ball stud and anything else you'll need to make the later, large bellhousing work with the 1964-'66 parts. They can even advise you on the required floor modifications. They're very helpful, friendly folks who can tell you, and provide, exactly what you need to get your 4-speed dialed.
No, it's everything. The '67 plate isn't made to fit an early-A, the part 66Dartdriver posted is the body ball-stud bracket assy., & You need an early-A Z-bar/rod. Early-A's are ~2.5" narrower front frame rail-to-rail, which makes it ~1.25" short on that side, hence the links posted above.I am using the 10.5 bell. OK, so the modification is on the bell side not the frame side. I'll get hold of Brewers tomorrow. Thanks!
He doesn't have a stock anything for a '66, He's trying to stick '67 parts in a '66......Just locate the stock Z bar bracket in the correct place, mark and drill the holes and bolt it on. What's the issue?
Pretty sure you mean 130 tooth flywheel.Hey guys, here's some closure on this thread. The car is an original 4 barrel/4 speed car that just received a 340. Due to the additional power/torque I installed the 143 tooth flywheel and 10.5" clutch which requires the bigger bell. The only part I could reuse was the fender-side Z bar mount...
Yes you are correct, thanks for catching this.Pretty sure you mean 130 tooth flywheel.
