How about this, previous intake Edelbrock dual quad, 2x500cfm carter/Edelbrock carbs, 3" port match, cut down dividers. Absolute best times [email protected]

OCP Single 4bbl dual plane. 850cfm Holley, Intake is in completely out of the box condition. 2nd run off the trailer. Check out the port match. My heads are CNC ported. DA OF 2666!!
This is only the beginning of testing but it works!!!

You think you will get close to the crossram numbers Joe? Is long block the same?
 
works for me where do I send the check :) and we still need to chat about those valve covers and coil relocation lol
 
i'm sure you have elsewhere but could you give a quick rundown on your motor? your running the kind of numbers I am looking for.
 
72bbswinger, I don't think it will equal the cross ram but after I port match the and cut the divider down it should run 117-118mph. Crossram ran 120.9mph. Everything is the same with exception of the intake. Same engine, same trans, same trans internals, same drive shaft, same gear (4.56 and a spool), and same tires. w2 stroker, I have a supplier that never got back to me so again, pricing is still in the air. I hate to keep saying that but here we are again. :( I have an engine that was built a long time ago so you may be looking for better stuff than what I have in it. If you still want to know just say so.
 
How's the hood clearance? Will it fit under a stock flat hood? Do you think the results will be similar with efi? I've never seen a dual plane efi intake (port injection, not tbi style).

I have flange to carb mounting figures. Indy Mod Man, 8" from bottom of the intake flange to the air cleaner mounting flange and is not angled. My intake 8 1/8" from the bottom of the intake flange to the air cleaner mounting flange and is not angled. Hughes engines makes a dual plane EFI for magnum engines that they have had for years. Results may be better with EFI because it is strictly dry flow through the intake. No fuel runs through it which will make more room for the air.
 
Fwiw I ran a 16x3 with a drop base on a modman with no hood clearance issues - but cant say oif our engine bays are any dedper than your Dusters and Barracudas.

And another comment - because this intake performs so much better than the Modman or other single planes - $$ spent on a light skimming of the carb pads would not be throwing good money after bad.
 
i would still be curious on your build or a link to it if it's posted elsewhere :). and i will keep waiting and watching for your intakes to be done as it is exactly what i'm looking for for my build. the only other real option would be the edelbrock dual 4
 
For what it's worth, I had a ModMan with a FAST 4 bbl throttle body and a drop base air cleaner just fit under the stock hood. Originally I couldn't fit my Carter AFB with a standard air cleaner as the engine angle tilted up enough that the front of a 12" air cleaner would hit the hood. I bought a 6 pack style hood around the same time I switched to my fuel injection setup and got a new air cleaner with a filter style top plate since I knew I'd have more room with the scoop and found out afterward that it was a drop base and sat below the scoop. It's still a really close fit though, and I think a carb might be a bit taller than my throttle body, so still might not fit.

Springs: Comp Cam's behive
Rockers: Cryo treated stock rockers. Using lash caps for geometry
Pushrods: Hughes engines adjustable .030 preload
Lifters: Stock 6.1L lifters
Cam: Custom Comp cam 247I 253E @.050 107 LSA, ICL=+5, .552 Lift In .537 Lift Ex
Timing chain: Manley double roller
Crankshaft: Stock 6.1L Steel, radiused oil passages and Nitrided.
Rods: Eagle 6.123 LA H beam connecting rod
Pistons: Custom Ross, Pin for LA rod, 1.5mm 1.5mm 3mm oil ring 22cc dome
Oil pan: Modified 9qt Milodon pan and windage tray.
Oil Pump: Melling HP
 
3670lbs with driver, race tires and wheels and, 1/4 tank of gas.
 
The intakes have finally been casted this week after a delay at the foundry. They are currently in the shop being machined. I have my fingers crossed for mid to end of the month.
 
I'm a believer and will have one on my 03 Ram 1500 as soon as they are available. Give me that call Joe and I'll be there to pick it up.... :)
 
Thank You everyone!! They will be available this month but are still currently being machined. I will have some dyno testing going on with an 05 300C shortly. I'm also running at Atco with the MSHS on Saturday.
 
Yes sir! I have EFI early 5.7L intakes coming. The rest are taking their sweet old time.
 
joe, I was considering the modman route from indy; but seeing all the negative input here about them, I have decided to wait for your intake. how will we know when they are available? thanks
 
Joe, forgot to ask if I can still hide my coil packs under your intake? that's important to me for that clean old school hemi look I am after. thanks
