Still having the same problem have now rebuilt the carb and removed the distributor but didn’t see anything there I also removed the distributor and timing gear and didn’t see any significant sign of wear or anything that could’ve Broke

The genius that rebuilt the carb installed the carb base plate backwards...that will be an issue.

You can switch it around yourself...only need a #3 Phillips screwdriver

Quick question tho would that be the reason my car would all of a sudden shoot up to 1500 rpms randomly as I’m trying to bleed the radiator car idled decent before at 1k and sounded alright and now the timing sounds advanced and if I play with the distributor the idle to 1000 but it would still sound advanced

Don't know about the Holleys but Edelbrock carbs have the low speed idle screws for left and right sides facing forward.

The Edelbrock 1406 electric choke carb is a good universal carb for many applications, pretty simple carb and easy to adjust.

Usually for me it has been bolt on and go.

Yea I’ve heard good things about those but right now I’m not really 100% sure if the carburetor is my issue and To be honest my next step after this is just to save up and go with either a Holley sniper efi system or a fitech efi system

Here is the Mopar linkage arm to use with the Edelbrocks to get the throttle cable mount right.

Why get him even more confused? On Holleys/Demons the idle mixture screws are on the sides of the metering blocks. Looks like this Demon has 4 of them. This is the least of his problems.

But yeah, the throttle-base plate is installed backwards on this "rebuilt" carb. Who knows what else is ***-backwards. I think I'd ask for a refund!

Looking at the pictures, I can see quite a few other issues For example, where is the transmission throttle-pressure (kickdown) linkage? Good luck getting it to shift correctly.

Yes, your carburetor is probably 90% of the problem. Put together wrong.
