You are a good man Fred. I would have done the same for my mother in law but she had an insurance policy for 5 years of assisted care. I took care of all of the paper work. She lived with us for 10 days is all after my wife found her on the floor of her trailer house. We adored each other. She was happy in the assisted living home. Slept most of the time. Lived there 2 years I think.
They loved her there. Too bad she couldn't have cooked for them.

Good evening, thought I’d stop in say hi , it got a little heavy in the last few posts brought up some memories of my Mom and Dad yup Dad-wanted to die at home he did :( Mom went in the hospital ah **** this is to heavy .

Looks like my mother in law is moving to North dakota and found her a nice townhouse that is Hinicaped accessible. SOOO she moves in with me or the townhouse. Not looking for anymore places for sale or rent she has 2 options and she needs to decide.
There I did my duty for the day and really not much available around here to buy or rent.
Could ya all give me a atta boy for trying...
Moving her in with you is all fine and dandy and admirable. Even if you love your MIL and get along really good I think you'll eventually find her quite a handful and will really tie you down.
So the townhouse sounds like a good thing to me and she can have homecare etc. Best of both situations in my book.

As much of a pain in the neck my mother in law has been to me I could be an *** hole but I choose to be the better person and just take care of her.
Well for me I wouldn’t want to be a burden on my kids. They have lives also and don’t need a pet that requires 24/7 attention. So I will be going to a home if I require to. Pretty much what my mom thought. Worked for us went to visit her at least once a week signed her out for all holidays and lots of Sunday suppers and we didn’t have to worry about her when everyone was at work

A good move for everyone BP.
My MIL could be a handful at the best of times but she'd give you the shirt off her back.
I would have helped her with Assisted Dying if she had lived here LOL
I think my wife would have helped me at times lol

My dad died at 67 with a massive heart attack and mom lived till 86 till pneumonia took here.
Mom lived in a nursing home but we left it up to her before putting her in a nursing home. That way she couldn't blame us (my sister and I).
My mom was a sweetheart but she could have her moments as well.
I'd give anything to have them back but that's not going to happen

The perfect scenario Murray and I bet she made friends in the nursing home.
But like everyone else you feel guilty about putting your parents in a facility but best for all.

Morning guys and happy whatever day it is lol.
Both my wife and I go for our 4th booster shot this afternoon.
I was at a car show last night and found a real unique car there.
A 63 New Yorker 4 door sedan. Originally a 361 but the guy got hold of a 413 and bored it out to a 426 wedge and get this a factory 3 speed on the floor car.
Never in a million years would have ever guessed a New Yorker would have a 3 speed on the floor.
It had been painted once but still the original colour. What a find.

ouch that's to hot for me with fire gear on.

So I mowed the lawn today and decided to take my just waxed Scamp for a nice cruise to town and she looked sharp nice and shinny. I pulled out of the driveway and all of a sudden I could even hear it hit and there on my hood, windshield and roof was this big runny turd and it was running down my windshield. So I stop get out of the car and look up and there on the power line above my car set this Pigeon that obviously had diarrhea and it was laughing his *** off.

Well, I just made it back home to my parents

Because of the scamdemic I have not been here in 4 years

I'm glad to tell you all, I still know how to drive a stickshift (since that is all the have here)
