Hutchenson if I spelled that right is great. ingersol also. not sure on the price but around $300 or more. All my tools are old haven't bought any in a long time.
I would agree that Hutchinson (SP) is top of the line. They make an 8" finish sander that I would love to have.

Scoot over Mike I'm moving that way. lol
, No need for me to move over, plenty of land out here

I'm Kind of new to this thread MonkeyMadness. What is it that you do for a living?

I sell Exhaust for motorcycles

You going to work on the car or you going on vacation?
Going on Vacation.. rented a camper and camp space at the beach down on San Diego. Going to do nothing but eat and veg at the beach and watch my boy and his friends enjoy the thanksgiving break...

Hutchinson eh!

I try to steer away from pawn shops but I will look. I spose I will be able to tell if any bearings are bad pretty quick. I am sure mine will work great on my neighbor's 8N though!

Dynabrade makes some nice sanders too.

How does that work? Guy retires and then gets the gravyest jobs known to the body industry.
That's what happens when you get old, gravy work.
Remember I live in farm country and every farmer has a newer pick up that they destroy daily.
I am self employed and only do gravy work I leave all the tough work for you young guys.

I'm sure your's will do just fine Jeff It's not like your going to paint lots of cars.
Try it and see if it works for you and if not is still great for other projects.
Never seen a Bearing go out of a DA yet.

Hutchins ProFinisher Sanders

I also found a dynabrade for <$200 on Amazon.

Now that my head hurts, the offset of 3/16, 3/12, or 5/16 denotes how abrasive it is by strike length - correct?

Sorry if I am PIA gentlemen!
Not at all Jeff. Not sure what you are saying here are you talking about an air board witch would make scene or a orbital sander or DA.
Heading for work now I'll talk to you when I get back and get some pics of mine.

I've never seen that either but I assume the smaller the offset the finer the finish even though its still the same grit. Always a trade off. One finish sands better and another will remove paint better. Hence my chainsaw reference earlier.
