New fastest Mopar?

So you've seen it?? Yea, That's what I thought....

Those pieces of **** aren't even made here..I'll take the forty-year old MADE IN AMERICA car any day over those imported shitboxes!!!

Thats a REAL CAR!!!
I agree, but not sure why you disagreed with me (other than to just disagree):D
It is exactly what I said. "they will never make it again". Doesn't mean I don't wish they would, but folks can keep the tears a flowing like a river, lay on your backs and throw a fit, but they ain't mak'n it again. NEVER

I hear what your sayin, but the electronics of today wont last 40 years.
You could very well be right. And trust me, I feel so much more at home under the hood of a carburetor, but we do have a lot of early to mid 90's stuff out there still purring like a kitten, and that's about 25 yrs old already. We shall see..... :)

Im with ya on that. I think 2000 and up vehicles will suffer over a period of 40 years

The Hellcat is a good deal if you want 3 cars in one; daily driver, road race, and high 9 sec drag car.
No trailer or pickup required to haul to the track, and it only takes up one spot in the garage. Throw in the warranty and how can you go wrong.
I'm not buying one since I'm happy and have fun with the 2 A's I drive. I'd rather see a hellcat in the other lane than another Mustang, Camaro, Vette, Civic, etc.

Damn man, will you shut the **** up already. Nobody cares.

Obviously YOU do or YOU wouldn't be quoting what I said..I see you own one of those pieces of ****,figures:rolleyes::rolleyes:..buy a REAL car will ya!!

I agree with most of what ya said except, if you go 9's in the 1/4 your not under warrenty :). The best they have gotten from it floor room stock is low 11's, until they bolted on better tires (and only tires) and went 10.75.

The reality is, it's now 2017. They quit making 1970 cars in 1970. They were and are cool. But now they build far superior products in almost every aspect of the machine. If the technology of the 70's was so good, they would still be building them that way today. They're not. No, we will never get the exact car back that some so dearly love. That's why we are building the ones in our garages. We're trying to keep a cool piece of history alive. But as for daily driving, real daily driving, you can't beat modern technology. You can lie to yourself and try to fool others, but everybody knows driving 1000 miles in an old car vs a new car, there is no comparison. I love my old cars, but I definitely will take my new one on a long journey, and it is far superior in the winter as well. Face it, you're old, and the car of your day is fading away. When you're dead, kids will be building cars that you didn't like, just like the generation before us didn't like what we were doing.
Remember, the Dart was a Granny car for many years with only a few built for performance. The real purpose was basic transportation. Now they are doing the same thing. Most vehicles are built for the masses with a select few being turned into performance minded machines. You don't have to like it, but odds are you're outnumbered by those who do. After all, you are building and working on a Mopar product already.

I just think they went about it wrong, yeah its kind of cool to have the demon name but doesn't make sense especially for a manufacturer tries to bring the vintage twist with a modern car, if they would of made a awd turbo dart equivalent to the focus rs then that would make more sense to wear the demon name. I guess we should be thankful they are bringing back the demon name at all

agree with this a lot, but some of the changes were made per EPA and Safety regulations.

Im not old lol im 25, and still would rather have my demon than a hellcat or a challenger demon. Honestly i think most things today are over engineered. You cant argue the mpg issue because im sure you can get 20-25 mpg on a /6 and probably at least 15 mpg on a mild v8. Theres cars that were built in the 70's and 80's that were getting 20+ mpg

I bet theres not one hellcat thats broken 100k miles yet. They make it that long without tearing up and we'll see

Actually, there were cars in the early sixties getting 30+ mpg. They weren't powerful, though :D

Well, I'm kinda old! I know I've driven and owned both. No comparison in any way other than the cool factor for me. Modern tech is superior. That's partly why people are doing restomods with gen III Hemis. And I will be doing one myself. 1970 car, command start, fuel economy, tons of power, what's not to like?!

I guess i was born in the early 90's and im stuck in the early 70's.

Youd be surprised on how lacking some of today's engineering is, not all but some

Well hell, if they make the challenger demon then i guess my demon is part challenger lol. Time to open a for e bodies only acct lmao

Well 2 weeks a hellcat charger that went 9.99 with MT drag radials kicked my a$$. DA 500ft. This guy was no rookie and could drive. Several other hellcats are 10.2s

Sure you can get 20+ with a slant or even a small block if you used an overdrive trans but get any old engine to make 475+hp like the new HEMI's and still get 25 mpg. Or make 700+ hp and get 22 mpg highway. I agree with you, overall classics are way cooler than new cars. That said, my long term plan for my Duster will include a 6.1 or 6.4 HEMI and a 6 speed or OD automatic

The new ones are cool too. I just think this wasnt the proper time to try and bring back the demon name thats all

Sounds like FCA is making an effort, gotta give them props for that. It is 2017, new cars, and namings rehashed are going to happen. Demon wasn't the top dog for Dodge, so who cares if they use the name on a current model that has had good success. Now if they could just put it on a diet to actually compete with the Ford/Chevy offering, then the battle between the big 3 would be that much more entertaining.

Ah jeez... people bitched and moaned when Mopar didn't offer any muscle cars or even rear wheel drive cars for YEARS!! Now that Dodge is back on top of the horsepower wars and bringing out some badass muscle cars everyone bitches about "fiat" and "wrongfully used name plates" had fiat not bought Chrysler there would be no Chrysler and people would piss and moan about that!!! I can see why brand X people sometimes think Mopar people are snobby, stuck up, pricks!! Just be glad we have the option to go to a dealer and order the highest hp muscle car or sedan ever produced and it's a Mopar!! I for one and damn proud that Dodge hasn't succumbed to the hybrid, cracker box, shitty looking cars like like the majority of the gutless, man card stealing crap on the roads today!! (With exception of the dart....)

Rant over, I'm out.

P.S. no this is not directed at any one particular person, simply based off of many replies I've seen online from the ungratefuls that call themselves Mopar fans. And for anyone who wants to respond with "it's not Mopar, it's fiat" re-read the first part of my post.
Took the words right out of my mouth. Do I love the old Demon? Of course! But they aren't going to build that again. So thank God as you said that we have RWD V8 cars again to drool over instead of Inturdpids and all that other crap they were building while the Phord and Chebby guys had Rustangs and Crapices and Camaros with RWD and V8's. And as mentioned, the Gold colored one pictured is a 10 year old concept. It won't look anything like that. It'll be off the current LX Hellcat. And not a Fiat like someone wrote. Fiat does not make the 6.4, c'mon. Poo poo all over it. You don't have to drive one in this semi-free country. I love the old stuff best too, but some are so quick to bash just because it's new.
