I wanted something somewhat period correct for my 66 Barracuda. My car had the optional 13" wheels, and finding tires in 13" is a challange. I went with the American racing outlaw II, 14" X 7" and BF Goodrich 205X70X14" on front and rear. Couldn't be happier with the result.

Got a new rear end (8 1/4) and a disc brake conversion, so I needed different wheels and tires for the BBP. Went with Wheel Vintiques 15x7 Rallye rim and BFG 225/60/15s all around. Also have the polished chrome beauty rings. I like the Wheel Vintiques, the finish was smooth and they weren't out-of-round like I've heard a few times. The tires were a big improvement from the stock 195/70/14s I had, a more solid feel going around turns.

I have no rub and the torsion bar was adjusted a touch lower than stock height too. No modifications to wheel well or shocks.

It looks great! Only one problem: They are 225/60R15 tires.
 
Anybody have a 15x10 wheel on a stock tub 71 duster? springs moved in 1/2 " What BS is needed with a 28x9 slick.

I have 18x10's with 295/35/18's on a stock tub Duster with a 1/2" spring offset. Section width on a 295/35/18 is 11.7 to 12". Looks like a 28x9" should have a section width of 10.8" to 11", which is pretty close to a 275 for a street tire.

Backspace on an A-body 8 3/4 with BBP axles should be 5.5 to 5.75" or so for a 10" wide rim. I have a 68-70 B body rear in my Duster, so I'm doing math to get that number from what I'm running. My numbers are coming from my A-body 8 3/4 with BBP axles in my Dart though so it should be pretty close.

Sweet! I used run 205/70/15's on the front of my Dart with 15x5 steelies.

Bf Goodrich comp2 245/45/17

With 27mm offset which is a 5.62" backspace.

Rear

With 27mm offset which is a 5.62" backspace.

Overall tire and rim height 25.68"
Tire width 9.64"
Keep in mind a 8" wide rim uses its outside edge to outside edge measurement of 9 inches to calculate offset or backspace.

Ive test fit one rim and tire setup on all four
Corners of my car. The front fit fine with plenty of room all around.
The rear fit good, a hair tight near the leaf springs. They will never rub
I only needed a 3/4" offset . I had to go with the 27mm/1" offset to stay
Away from the more expensive 2 pice rims.
I also had wanted the 18x8 rims but they were not
Available in a offset I could use.

Suspension mod - Classic Industries 6 leaf Heavy Duty springs and 4.5 bolt pattern axles from Dr Diff in an 8 3/4

Rear tire clearance is about 3/4 inch to leaf springs and 1/2 to fender wheel well lip. I had to cut some off the outer wheel well lip on one side to gain the needed clearance.
I tried to fit 225 60R 15 on the front with these wheels, but they hit the front corner of the wheel well. :wack:

Torque Thrust II's

17x7 with 3.5 backspacing up front with 215/45R17 BFG G Force Comp TA

17x11 with 4.25" backspacing out back with 315/35R17 Mickey Thompson ET Street SS.

Rear is 52 7/8" wide, front is stock with SSBC disc brake conversion.

Currently stock steel 14's around with 245/60/14.

I want to up the rear wheels to 15's. How big of a tire size can I go without any body or suspension changes. Keeping a stock dog dish look...just more rubber and a beefier look. Daily driver stock 340.

I just picked up a set of Mopar rallye wheels with BFG T/A's off a guy with a 70 Cuda for $300. Rims need to be cleaned and repainted but look OK and tires are in excellent shape. I couldn't believe they fit. My 71 Demon has a 73 an up disk conversion up front and 73 up 8 1/4 rear.

Front 14" rallyes with BFG T/A 245/60R14's (no mods other than lifting the front a bit)
Rear 15" rallyes with BFG T/A 275/60R15's (lift kit and air shocks with a 1/4" spacer)

Rears fit good with about 1/4" either side, air shocks only at about 70lbs to not bottom out. Ride is nice and smooth especially since I just rebuilt the front.

I really hated the 14" Cragars that came with the car. They were the ones that had oval holes to fit other cars and I had a hard time lining them up every time I took them off. The chrome had also blistered on the hubs so they didn't look good close up. Cheepo tires on them. Was gonna sand and paint them until I came across this deal.

I do think I might goto a 255/60R15 for the rear when its time. I'll get Cooper Cobras instead of the T/A's. Just like the look better.

Here's the latest combo on the Duster.

US Mags U101 polished slots

15x5" w/2.5" bs
205/70-15 radials

15x9 w/5" bs (mini-tubbed & springs inboard)
325/50-15 Nitto drag radials

Switched out the racey race Draglites and 165r skinny fronts for these. Going for a tough "Day 2" kinda look. So far nothing but compliments on this combo
