Mitch. Thanks - that's awsome!

looks like the clip the same as '66 type. Must have been used up through '68 then. That should be findable used if not new.

Hope you still have it!
At least the way your harness is postioned it doesn't look like the ballast connectors are being strained.

Nice wire harness too!
I was comparing the repop on my '67 to the original I removed and noticed the original fusible link tag was yellow. The more I look, the more I find little things different. It was functional, but for a points car it wouldn't cut the mustard.

Good Morning folks, got the rear glass seal from Dante’s yesterday. Since I was able to do the windshield I’m going to give it a go. Wish me luck!
Have a great day folks.
Back glass is easier than front. Bottom corners are the only tough spot. Are you using sealer?

Agreed, I have never had the courage to do the glass, I invariably pay someone who knows how to do it and has the suction cup thingees and assorted tools. I gotta play my chicken card when it comes to glass.
Suction cups won't really do anything for ya on this type install

No, not hardly, but I did speak with him last week, for a spell.....I think we are on the same page now.....
But are ya looking at the same book? :poke:

Good Morning

Thanks Matt. I do still have that clip. That wiring harness is original to the car. I removed it when I redid the engine compartment. I took it outside and sprayed it down with Spray9 and scrubbed, lightly with a nylon brush. Wash off with water, let it sit out in the sun to dry thoroughly. Then I hit it with WD40. Same way I've done several harnesses. Even the dash harness is original/uncut. I bypass the ballast resistor, behind it by soldering in a solid wire, since I am running a Pertronix unit inside the Dizzy. Then I shrink wrapped the two wire out of the Dizzy, to help it look more like one wire.

Yes, using a glazing compound to seal the rubber to the car. Got the glass ready, rubber installed now waiting on the boy for an extra set of hands.

I tried to get someone local to do the windshield There were only two that seemed interested. First one was a no show and the second came out looked at it and asked me “how do you do that with no lip at the bottom?” I said thanks for stopping by. LOL. At that point I figured I’d done everything else with the car might as well learn this too.

I used the rope butyl where they go over the metal, and only used the caulk (NAPA brand} at the bottom of front seal where it just lays in groove. Then added 08609 Windoweld under the edge to glass.

I found out, they make that buytl in more than one size. 5/16 and 3/8 I think. I had to return one one time , cause I got the wrong size...

My last windshields in my tool truck were just glued in. No ledge or channel. They took flat tempered plate and glued it with urethane. It was strong and prevented the pillars from cracking. Can't do that with your car but I just needed to tell the story. LOL

Nice!
Originals are generally better than any repop. Thats awsome that you could clean it up and reuse it.
Glad I saved the original even though the desert heat had done a number on some of the insulation.

Good Morning...snow here not much.
Matt in post of the Hot Rod pic the drivers firewall clip looks just like what I got.
Other strange things on it. Must not be a 383 heater hose into the block is different than mine.
Also looks like they have an after market temp sending unit on the block.
Bolted or welded...yep closer look its welded.

Its a 273.
It looks like I installed my harness with the Y on the wrong side of the retainer I've marked W1

Yep, that's a 273... The commando valve covers and rear distributor give it away...
