You going to have to modify that control arm also?
That you need to chemically strip?yes. and i have 2 project cars to do eventually.
No, the lowers are stock. The uppers, i modified. Getting ready ready to get it up in the air and get a better look.....Pics to follow......You going to have to modify that control arm also?
I had a girlfriend like that once! She could suck start a Harley backwards! LOLSo far the only thing that will suck the grease out of a aluminum casting that I have found so far.
Citristrip? Not surprised it doesn't work for that.I have tried the citrus stuff, barley does the job after a day covered with plastic.
maybe. That said, I went and bought literally the last gallon of the stuff in town. 24 bucks for the gallon. Dude at the parts store said there's been a run on it since Friday and didn't know why. had a whole pallet of it and its gone now. Which he was glad because corporate sent an email saying that any left over by COB on March 31 had to be disposed of as hazardous waste and that's 35 bucks a gallon to do for the store. That you need to chemically strip?
Hoppy has a a specific use for it.
Eh, if i dont use it and you end up really needing some, I'll bring it to carlisle with me lolSo far the only thing that will suck the grease out of a aluminum casting that I have found so far.
im mainly hoping itll eat the undercoating off the dart. scrapping that **** off sucksI use about a gallon a month. Works great getting crusted on grease/oil off of parts.
Take some frame measurements if you can and i'll take some on my 89 d350. frame wise, they should be fairly close to the sameWell, I got it up and a good look at it... Looks like just the right lower control arm, and ball joint. Might have to put a new swing bushing in the replacement arm. But the modified upper arm looks ok, as do the tie rods and links , and strut bars...Might get lucky. Wont really know if the frame is twisted or not until I can get the front end straight. I'm sure my truck alignment guy will tell me.. Maybe I'll know as soon as I drive it...
very trueUndercoat remover. it comes in a spray can. None of that changes that thing we call gravity. Hint hint You be careful out there!
Yep. Pretty sure I have most of a gallon on hand. From a few years ago...Be realistic. Do you use it?
I do. But not often, and not that much. A gallon can be sitting here for several years - usually longer. By then someone is cleaning house and I get another gallon or quart. If the cans are just going to sit in the shed getting rusty, its just a waste.
really? I used a whole gallon stripping just the cap and front clip on my 78.Yep. Pretty sure I have most of a gallon on hand. From a few years ago...
Torch and a putty knife. Just warm it up. Stop before it burns. Comes right off. And less fumes than the stripper.im mainly hoping itll eat the undercoating off the dart. scrapping that **** off sucks
I didn't strip the Duster. Only areas I worked on and that was sanded off. If paint was solid it stayed on.really? I used a whole gallon stripping just the cap and front clip on my 78.
Did you just primer over it?If paint was solid it stayed on.
yesDid you just primer over it?
