Stop in for a cup of coffee

I wasn't going to say in here but say it in a PM. I started writing it and then stopped. But I didn't delete it and then I wasn't paying attention and posted something else and what I never intended to post.

The reason I am saying I am done with cars for the season is:

Today I went to work and I was feeling sore and tired from the long road trip on Wednesday.

So I am kinda dragging butt and just trying to make it through the day.

So on the way out to lunch I saw this little table with a box of papers on it and it was kinda blocking the door way to a closet / office storage place. So I was thinking it wasn't safe there and someone could open the door too fast or somehow trip over it.

So being in a hurry to go to lunch with the group, I slid the box of papers off the table in order to move the table and clear the way.

When the box slid off and all the weight came on my arms, it was waaaaay freaking heavier than I expected so I felt a snap crackle pop in my lower back and I went down to the ground with the box and landed on it.

I landed pretty much with my *** in the air over the box and chin on the floor (don't laugh). I didn't feel any pain then. I paused a minute and absorbed what happened.

Then I tried getting up and when I tried to straighten my back and get up. The most horrific pain I can't even describe with words. I don't even remember yelling in pain but it promoted some co workers to come see what happened.

Not a flattering moment to end up in the ER, bent over and not able to walk, being carried in.

So I am a couch potato for awhile.

Oh, I am sorry to hear that. That is no fun at all. I have a very weak back, ripped something trying to swing a 240 amp commercial truck battery up in my trailer many years ago. Been suffering ever since.
We need to be careful with our bodies, we only get one, and spare parts are even more tricky than for an old A-body.

@Rainy Day Auto

You said something interesting some days ago. Maybe I took it wrong, but did you say you had to look up a picture of a woman from northern Europe because you had never seen one ? Is that even possible ? Have you never seen a blonde woman who is not bottle blonde ? Just as an example.

Ordered my package tray today, picked up some paint for the hood and, picked up my seat brackets freshly blasted and painted from a buddy of mine. Hope to paint the hood next week and, hopefully get the seat upholstery finished up this weekend so when the package tray shows up its go time on the interior...

My wife and I are lazy, and laying on the coaches watching a woman from the Netherlands who is into Quilting, and my wife mention that she move her tongue in the mouth different than Americans do. Oh yes, she has a different mother tongue, just like me. Sometimes I bite myself if I talk English too fast... So I know how that goes. lol

That sucks. Take it easy till it has a chance to heal... I am terrible at following that advice myself. But I am getting better at it as I get older. Cause you know if you push it, your down that much longer.

Got that right zkx14, when you are down on the couch it is hard to sit there and do nothing, especially when you have 100 projects going and want to get back on them . . .

Tried to ask in the body forum about using Rust-Oleum primer and then acrylic paint, but not sure I got any wiser of the few answers I got. What say you guys ?

I saw someone posted up a cracked up steering wheel they were thinking about repairing was that you Bill ?
I imagine you could do the bodywork tricks on filling the cracks prime it with an automotive primer surfacer, sand that, then apply an automotive finish to it to cover over all the work. Lots of time for the interior colors, they just use the Base Coat color coat for the car without the final clear coat, that way it stays flatter to go with the rest of the interior without the shine.

Well, I am no expert, but to give an answer ...lets start with exactly which primer are we talking about?

I have a can of Rust-Oleum Rusty Metal Primer, so it was to use that instead of buying and buying and buying new stuff all the time.

It is for the upper dash where the speaker and defroster vents are. It has some rust, but not at all too bad, and I will sand it a bit first. It is only because I had this primer already.

Yes, it was me, I am currently restoring it. But I thought I just delete the post. I have filled the hair crack lines with Loctite 420, and the largest cracks I am filling with Loctite epoxy. I have primer, paint, and clear coat for the steering wheel, 1 pint of each.
So, it was not for this project I wanted the Rust-Oleum primer.

Isn't that funny. If I am sick, it bothers me that I am laying there and can't do anything. Then, when I get well and can do whatever I want, I go and lay down on the coach and can be lazy... lol

I have used 3M panel bond to fix steering wheels before.

I put the whole wheel in the sand blast cabinet and blast it, easier than sitting there sanding it till the cows come home with a small clogged piece of sand paper.

Then with it all blasted, then you can epoxy primer and refinish it nice.

No sandblasting equipment. Sorry. Just a file.
