We usually cut mostly through them with a cut off disc.
And air chisel.
Quite a few imports need wheel hub removed from bearing, grind to weaken and air chisel to punch it off safety glasses, face shield required.

You can drill them too.

I am a little concerned. My oldest son and some friends are hiking/camping in the mountains west of Denver

Good Morning All! Had this happen in my neighborhood, boom truck that put the roof shingles up hit both fiber and powerline down the street. This power outage resulted in my neighbor losing a freezer in her garage, now she's asking me for help with her claim.
Oops
Yeah, it looks like it could have gone down the road with the rest of it lol. Control board according to local appliance shop that sold her the freezer. Supposed to have a surge protector but who does that for a freezer?
Not sure about surge protectors, but I know some appliances will trip ground fault protection
My farm implement shops had a old fry pan filled with motor oil that they would use to heat the bearings up in. That worked great.
Adds flavor to the fried chicken!
I agree it sits down there and few will notice, but I don't care!!
I thought all this stuff was to make it more original...

Good Morning

We were going to head up camping on Tuesday, going to leave Wednesday now, Calling for snow up there Monday and Tuesday.

The neighbor first came over yelling at my roofer, he explained his truck was legal height. I reported the line to my company who was working with the fiber company on a solution but not done yet. Hopefully my neighbors claim goes through, whatever happens sure was unfortunate, they lost quite a bit of meat and fruit plus the freezer.

So the problem was the line was too low????

Paid to have one done. Next time i did it myself. Was winter so i threw axle in snowbank, and set bearing and ring on a trouble lamp bulb (incandescent)
1/2 hour or so i brought axle in and dropped bearing and ring onto axle. A couple thumps with a heavy wall pipe and bearing was seated.

Now that's using nature to your advantage....

I was running a rig like this, in an operational condition , on a job in San Diego. It can be driven from the operator's seat on the crane. I was walking a big load of rebar for the rod busters to another site. Heavy load . Boom retracted but straight up to keep the weight close. 3 iron workers minding the load on foot. "Watch for any overhead lines!" I tell them. I felt something a little funny on the rig and down came the only telephone cable for a mile :BangHead:. They never made a sound or hand gesture :BangHead:
