Stop in for a cup of coffee

@Mopar Tim i went out and grabbed my Mustang II brake rotors. You’ll actually need to order the ones from a late 70s maverick to get the 5x4.5 bolt pattern. One thing to note, I forget how big the KH rotors are, but these measure 10.90 inches with a dial caliper. I’ll compare the bearings shortly, but the Ford outer one is most definitely thinner in width. Gotta pull the inner yet. I have all the part numbers if you need them.

I have a question. The Dodge Diplomats, from late 1970ties and out in the 1980ties, before the injection came, was it good cars ? Anyone have any experience with that. Ok, I hear a lot of people say that American cars in the late 70ties and 80ties in general was not very good cars, but were they as bad as the reputation was ? And, I guess what I am looking for is, was Dodge Diplomats any worse than the GM and Ford's from those years. I must admit I kind of like that style from back then.

Bill

in the late 70's they had the lean burn ignition which was crap, but you can fix that with the electronic ignition kit... Other than that, not a bad car....

I'm trying to be positive and "Diplomat-ic"....

Thank you. A thing like you mention, unless the block is changed for a peculiar and special distributor is not a problem. As you say it can be fixed, and such a thing would be a minor thing. It does not turn me away from a car. There are other things that is worse and more.costly.to fix.

Was outside now in the dark adjusting the engine after I put the pcv valve in, and I can not get it to slow down enough. Too fast idle in other words. Probably 800 rpm or so, maybe a little over too. Without the pcv valve I could adjust it plenty down.

Bill

Is there a breather on the other side valve cover????

Went into town for lunch and stopped the Palmer Candy Company store. Then off to Jolly Time Popcorn. Got lots of goodies!

I love being ignored. It is like marriage!

I learned to ignore my wife when she tried to talk to me when I was watching TV... I developed 'super focus' where I could concentrate on the TV and ignore what she was saying....

@krazykuda

I am sorry I was being bad, I just could not.help myself, it is kind of a flaw I have. The valve cover has the 1.5 inch tube in both ends, and since I was not able to get the engine to idle slow enough I wondered if I had a pcv valve that flowed too much air. The other option was that the carb was worn out and false air coming in around the throttle shaft. Until I discovered that I had been adjusting the wrong screw. When I adjusted the right screw everything was fine.

The good thing about cars missing drivelines is they are usually cheap.

I bought a 68 dart, complete body and interior and title for $300. Because it was no engine or trans.

Of course this was a long time ago but still

I like building my own drivelines for cars... That way I know it's done right and I won't have to fix it later.... :steering:
