Stop in for a cup of coffee

Question for the group.
A friend, who has money, is looking at a couple MOPARS.
Both cars are done, nothing to do.
One is a 440 and one is a 426 Hemi.
He reads the Hemi's are some what of a pain have to adjust the lifters and other type maintenance.
Never had one, know little about what the require.
Comments??

I built a 426 Hemi for my dad once... It was a pain... for a 'standard' engine, I had to do alot of 'custom' work....

That's what I thought. If they were a pain no one would of bought them in the day.
The Hemi cars one is automatic and one is a 4 speed. I feel with a Hemi car is really doesn't matter if its automatic or 4 speed, although more would lean towards the 4 speed.

The 69 Hemi B-body had a unique starter.... Pain in the @ss....

I've got more photosand a contact if you're interested..

What is photo sand????

I can't believe how hard it is to find a good slant six spool mount k Frame these days.

I think they were collected by aliens and taken to another planet because they are just gone.....

The 68 to 72 are not much easier to find either

Most people probably throw them away....

I might be the biased against E bodies.
Those cars were made for a 6 foot tall Male.
The seat bottom is like a pancake on the floor to sit on. I couldn't see over the dash without a thick math book and extra pillows. Then I could see over the dash but not over the hood line. Changing lanes, you just put your signal on and pray there is not another car on your quarter panel because odds of seeing it are none with no passenger side mirror.

The pistol grip is freaking huge, I needed both hands to get it into reverse. I could never get the clutch pedal to the floor without 2x4 pedal extensions.

The duster, was such a comfy road car not made for shrek.

I like the low seats in the E-bodies... It makes for a lower center of gravity for better cornering....

From time to time I look at house ads, most often with a basement, and almost always in areas where it is frost and snow in the winter. And it is one thing that puzzles me. In the ads with pictures from the basement, I almost never see insulation in the roof in the basement, which is the floor at the first level of the home. These puzzles me greatly, because our house here does not have a basement, but there is a crawl space under. I have never been there, but the floor is cold. So, now I wonder if it is no insulation here either, and I know for a fact that there is no insulation in the floor / roof between the first and second level.
Is this a common thing, not to have insulation in the floors in the US ? And if that is the case, for what reason ? I am used to 8 inches of insulation in the floors, 6 in the walls, and 14 in the roofs. Either a glass based insulation a bit like Owens corning, or Rockwool.

Bill

You don't need insulation between the basement roof and 1st floor because they are house temperature, not outside temperature... You need to insulate the surfaces where the outside temp is....

Here I sit all broken hearted. Went to **** and only farted.

Later on I took a chance. Went to fart and **** in my pants.

@krazykuda

I am sorry I was being bad, I just could not.help myself, it is kind of a flaw I have. The valve cover has the 1.5 inch tube in both ends, and since I was not able to get the engine to idle slow enough I wondered if I had a pcv valve that flowed too much air. The other option was that the carb was worn out and false air coming in around the throttle shaft. Until I discovered that I had been adjusting the wrong screw. When I adjusted the right screw everything was fine.

Bill

It's all good... We have to bust each other's nuts here... That's what makes this thread fun....

The tree trimmer was here from the power company... Cut up some of the wood, but did not clear all of the lines... Now they have to send him back to finish the job....

And this is what they call the "widow maker"... I picked up one of those long pole tree trimmers to take this down when we get a day of no rain...

True but if you notice, certain stores only carry certain models. I do think that matters as well

And if they make it a different model number, even if it's the same, they can get out of their 'price match' claims.... :icon_fU:

You know to meet or beat anyone else's price... :mob:

Is that red oak?

Is that red oak?

Not sure, but some kind of oak.... Probably about 150 year old tree....

I got lucky, here's the only damage to my back garage that I've found so far....

A small piece of gutter that got pulled away a little bit...
