Stop in for a cup of coffee

Yeah, the light at the end of the tunnel is a train...coming straight at them.

I expect the whole thing to implode in the next month.

Ok with me, I will take the Summer off while I decide what to do next.
You don't think someone else will try to buy out the operation?

I don't know what SCTA class it is, but I want one :steering:.
El Mirage Dry Lake it looks like.
Fuel Competition Coupe. I think there is another indicator for engine displacement.
61 cu in/1000cc. Looks like a boat load of fun.

I also bought a 6 pack of 1w LED bulbs from the same company as made the outdoor ones.

Upstairs accent light in the hall and downstairs accent light between the kitchen and family room.

At 1w each, they can burn 24/7 and only use $1 of electricity in a year. The previous 2 incandescent 15w bulbs used 28x as much energy for the same light output.

Nope. It’s going to go down in a ball of flames with only a bit of wreckage to salvage and try to rebuild with. They may likely want me to help with that...but my price goes up 50% to even consider it. I am entirely mercenary about the whole thing.

That's probably best way to keep it from agravating you too much.

Im aggrivated.
Did engine swap last month. Bill had to go to council meeting for approval. Ended up on mechanic’s desk where it sat for 10 days where it missed the council meeting.I wont get paid until april now. He knows how the paper trail works there. Did it intentionally. Its not going to break me, but it sure pisses me off.
that’s why i turned down work from two fleet agencies, more than 45 days to get paid is unacceptable.

It’s the only way.

The CMO resigned this week. The SVP of Regulatory, the SVP of Clinical Development and the Executive Director of Clinical Operations are all lined up and ready to go next. They are all sitting by their big tubs of Popcorn to watch the implosion before they walk.

Me, I’m just waiting on the exodus and then see if there is anything to negotiate for in the wreckage. This Senior management crew has been failing at everything they touch for the past 10 years, but I have managed to extract an extra 2.5 years worth of pay in retention bonuses and severance packages across their 3 failed companies. This one will be their fourth.

I am always open to take more of the money from their failure while keeping myself distanced from any responsibility for it in my reputation in the field.

Hey, I’m just a consultant...what they choose to do is their decision.

Guess you'll have to add a percentage for unpaid after 28 days clause to the next contract and invoice.

Wont be a next..
I do the work, nothing leaves until i get paid. Has been my rule for 6 years. I never figured the guy was such a dick, but had a sneaky feeling. Little does he know im in with 3/4 of the council as i work on their stuff. Have one councillor’s el camino here, and a carb im rebuilding off another’s 64 t-bird. Will be seeing all three thursday afternoon. I think i will choose to say nothing.

I understand your aggravation. Back when I was running my auto upholstery business in the mid 80s, I got a contract from the PA State Police to put 43 vinyl tops, pins stripes and side molding on former plain-Jane rental GM cars so they could use them as unmarked vehicles.

They wanted them all done in 10 days and agreed to a 20% rush premium. Terms were payment due in 30 days of delivery of the last vehicle.

I killed myself doing the work (even though I had come down with the flu for the last 3 days of the work) and delivered everything on time...but they didn’t pay as agreed.

I was pissed.

It took 7 months of red tape to finally get paid.

It was the first, last, and only time I ever did business with any government agency.

Dropped like 10 cents here in last few days. About 2.40 now. Hope it keeps going to what you are seeing

The prime interest rate dropped .5%, I'm hoping mortgage rates follow as we are converting from construction to regular home owner mortgage.

What you are seeing in pump gas prices is reflective of the change in gas futures price 1 month ago...not what is happening today.

It will likely go down a bit more...but probably not a lot.

I would have thought someone with a supposed MBA would understand that and how market forces and timing work in relationship to how retail price eventually manifests itself in the open market.

Hmmm.

I'm holding steady on the work on one car only technique.

I have focused on one car and about ready to back it out of the shop on its own power

I'm having to part out one of my other non runners to get this one going.

I guess I will worry about it later lol

The reason is that after walking past it, wanting to work on it, and it not being the most responsible to work on. It was eating me up emossionally. So I did the opposite of responsible and my stress level has dropped a lot. I want to drive this car so bad.
I need the pickup and have a deadline for the Coronet but, yeh......

There are too many parts needed that are not being made and likely never will be. If some of them don't get parted, others don't get done. Do what you gotta do. They are yours. No apologies...
