Stop in for a cup of coffee

Not disagreeing but where? I have all the vacuum ports plugged with new vacuum caps.
I did try to spray ether around the carb but it’s difficult to do it and be in the car lol
How did you adapt the 4bbl to the 2bbl intake?
Or do you have a 4bbl intake? with an adapter? Of some sort?

She fires up now , working on getting her to idle down now

Hell has frozen over....

I tried it with both the electric and the mechanical, fuel pressure gauge reads 7-8 cranking with the mechanical, drops to 5-6 as it’s reving. Electric is pushing a steady 10 psi cranking and “running” , it has a built in regulator so I can turn that down if too much

Holley street dominator,

but if the electric pump was over pumping the carb, wouldn’t the mechanical that’s running at 5 psi fix that issue?

Read what you typed in the two posts. But you have a Holley.

On Holleys, the fast idle cam is behind the electric choke on the passenger side... It's easiest to adjust with the carburetor off... Back it off some...

But before you go doing that, make sure that is what it is by checking that is what the problem is... While it's running cold, try to open the throttle a little and see if you can kick it down with the lever a bit by hand...

You have multiple problems. Pick one at a time. It might run by itself it it would idle. It's not It's revving like WFO.. Make sure the throttle spring is hooked up. Wire the vacuum secondary linkage closed. Then if it revs, look down the carb and see if it's pouring fuel. Then work on that issue.

:thankyou::thankyou:Thanks everyone, got myself a nice long list of things to try tomorrow. Seriously, really appreciate it. In the past, never had any where near this many problems, usually just a fuel pump or bad box etc. learning as I go. Hoppy’s book really helped as had all your guys’ advice. I’m sure to some, it may appear that I’m not listening or not trying suggestions or whatever, but I’ve always tried every one, or at least try too.
Seriously appreciate all of you helping and supporting. If Carlisle is a go, there’s gonna be a big token of appreciation sent over for your guys evening party...

New carb....out of box....But choke could be causing some of the issue...
And primarys could be a little wide. Which is step one before bolting it on. my neighbour was fighting with his carb and refused to pull it and set the throttle blades. So he trailered it to some specialist in the city that pulled carb and set his baseline.

By wide, you mean the jets? Or the blades themselves?

Agree with that,
Chris, there is a little screw on the secondaries only accessible from the bottom of the Carb, might be to tight, leaving the secondaries open to much...

Okie dookie, I’ll check it too. I’m gonna pull the carb and make sure my dumbass didn’t forget to put a gasket between the intake and adapter and the carb

Loved to play on the wheel.
My wife used to do that. There was a place in town that had the oven and the wheels, old lady that ran it eventually passed away and it was closed it down. One of the nicest ladies I’ve ever met
