Stop in for a cup of coffee

Other than getting booze, the main thing I was after today was a new screen door. Only the one we slide all the time was messed up. But couldn't find that one by itself. Got the pair and changed them out. Also sprayed my headrests with SEM.
I was in several stores. MOST people were wearing masks. Some 'too cool for school' types not wearing them. What surprised me was people not wearing them in the (state run) liquor store.

People who refuse to wear masks in public places don’t get it...but they probably will eventually.

Risk of contracting the virus when casually spending a few minutes within 6’ of someone who is infectious without both wearing a mask is 17%. Wearing a mask drops that to 3%. If both wear masks, it drops to less than 1%.

Spend an hour without a mask with a person who is infectious and not wearing a mask and the risk rate is close to 80%.

So who IS for sure going to Carlisle? I need a favor, it’s Easy. Just need someone to get me a business card

Last year, in the corner by Mitch was a lady selling black, foam sheets for garage. To like lay on and stuff. I love them! I bought two, 2ftx 8 ft rolls, they sold them as wide as 12x20. I can’t find her card she gave me, and I wanna order more this fall to cover part of my shop floor in front of my bench.

There were a few vendors with them, but I think I remember them near Mitch.

If I can find my papers from last year, I could probably tell you now....Should be in the 'program' - pretty sure it lists all the vendors.

Evening all.
Hydraulic leak on trash compactor, removed the grease tape and hose was loose. Tightened up, new grease tape good as new. Lifeboat charger not working. Check voltage, good. Cleaned contacts at plug, good. Continuity, good. New charger on order.

That does sound like fun.lol. I can't think of many places I like working less than on, or even near a compactor. Especially if its hot out.

Then they need to stay 6' away from me.

Well, this has been a delightful week...not.

2 days after doing all the overhead tree trimming and moving the rock pile last Saturday, I developed wicked symptoms of BVVP (Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo). It’s when the balance crystals in the inner ear become dislodged giving the random sensation of suddenly falling. I probably caused it by the kind of work I was doing.

It’s been 5 days of sudden waves of losing my balance and feeling like I am falling whether sitting, standing or lying down. When it first happened I thought maybe I was having a stroke (a common description for it when it first happens).

The good news is that it is benign and can clear on its own or with certain balance maneuvers that force the crystals back to their correct place. The bad news is that I have to endure it until either corrects itself (probable) or find a way to live with it if it doesn’t (rare, but possible).

Then, tonight, a nice 3 hour a-fib event to make me feel like I have been run over by a truck.

Bad enough that my vision is still fubar and gives me nasty eye strain headaches...but this crap is starting to push me over the edge.

I could use a vacation from this crap...but wherever I go, there I am. :BangHead:

Hey MeMike, if you are still up on the hill we just bought 60 acres in Prairie Grove this week. I got green light for 40 by 100 shop. Complete with range, I will have a classroom and small bunk house for guest instructors. Or you know family friends etc etc. Wife is looking at house plans now. Last time I built shop first then house, that is a definite no fly this time! Might be a nice spot to play music, bbq, shoot guns and pee of the porch!
Congrats on the new place. Tell her you need to build the shop first so you someplace to put your things while you build the house.

Sorry to hear that, will be praying. Has the eye improved at all?

That vertigo is nasty stuff. I had a few bouts of that after my surgery. There is a exercise to help correct those crystals if I remember correctly. Hope you can get things fixed.

Maybe slightly. I have somewhat more light and color perception in it, but the entire upper half field of view is still very blurry and is like looking through a hazy ice cube. The image warping is worse than the blurriness.

Imagine looking at a tall rectangle that now looks like a blurry coke bottle...until you look just a little away and then it looks like a blurry balloon....a little more away and it’s the blurry Coke bottle again. Fully to the side and it’s the tall rectangle like it should be. All at half the brightness and color that they should be.

No wonder the visual processing parts of my brain are going crazy...and it gives me headaches.

That's some scary ****. Hope it starts easing up Dave.

I get what I would say is mild vertigo. Usually if working under the car or just getting up and down from the floor too quick working on stuff. That feeling of falling is a whole other level of sucks. I'd be afraid of actually falling when that hits...

Thanks...it hasn’t been much fun. Lying down in bed and suddenly feeling like you have been thrown head first over the edge into the abyss makes for a stressful evening...and little sleep.

Last night I got up to use the bathroom and had to grab the wall when it hit and focus my thoughts on to the fact that I had the wall in my hand and I wasn’t actually falling...despite what my perception was telling me. It took about 20 seconds to get it under control and I could go do what I needed to. Then back in bed, I felt exhausted...and it hit again. Gripped the sheets hard and hung on telling myself it wasn’t real until it passed.

I really could do without this ****.
