Here we go. How much tension or preload is there on the slide at idle? You should be able to slide it off the pin at idle and it shouldn't be under pressure. (the pin should "just barely" drag on the back of the slot at idle.)
That might help.
Of course the reason I did not use adjustable rod in the first place is it is to short. Have to modify it some...
Thats hot rodding baby!!!!
Install it from the drivers side back at the bellcrank. That should give you some clearance for your throttle cable bracket. Too late for today but they make a extension adapter. You're pretty handy. You could fashion one.
I have a complete set, un molested sitting here right now. NOW I think it is late 66.Wish someone with a full unmolested set of 727 and 904 linkage and bellcranks would measure and share the lengths. of the different bits.

What makes this unique is the slotted adjustable arm with the head mounted bellcrankWish someone with a full unmolested set of 727 and 904 linkage and bellcranks would measure and share the lengths. of the different bits.

The different engine isn't usually the issue but almost everyone that changes intakes has this mis-adjustment issue. Replacing a stock AFB with a late model Edelbrock is usually ok but may require the Mopar adapter. (so it's not necessarily a carb issue but a intake thing)What makes this unique is the slotted adjustable arm with the head mounted bellcrank

I see. What makes this unique is the slotted adjustable arm with the head mounted bellcrank

And I assume that would be for a 904. yes? What makes this unique is the slotted adjustable arm with the head mounted bellcrank

Yes it is. I grabbed that out of a wrecking yard. Car was sad. 2 BBL setup. Different then 4BBL. As far as I know, the main difference is where the "arm" is attached at the pivot, and how straight it is.....And I assume that would be for a 904. yes?
So if you straighten this, like I did, it MIGHT make it to long. Throw off the geometry. Still unknown at this point.Yes it is. I grabbed that out of a wrecking yard. Car was sad. 2 BBL setup. If it is, I will measure un molested distance, and re drill hole to the correct position. I do not think it will be an issue tho...So if you straighten this, like I did, it MIGHT make it to long. Throw off the geometry. Still unknown at this point.
i ran 5-20 in my slant just to clean it out and when I told my buddy, he said "holly ****" and that was all he said. I now have 15-40.really the point of my post about the oil viscosity was that the most important factor is temperature.
On a regular Chysler engine from the 60s, a 5W-20 at normal operating temps is going to be really thin.
It only makes sense to use a 5W-20 with normal bearing clearances if the engine is running really cold.

This is a correct set for 4bbl earlyYes it is. I grabbed that out of a wrecking yard. Car was sad. 2 BBL setup. Different then 4BBL. As far as I know, the main difference is where the "arm" is attached at the pivot, and how straight it is.....
