Stop in for a cup of coffee

-
On the plate today, eye exam, suburban quarter panel glass replacement (glass shop) and working in the shop!
Today’s agenda:
Coffee

Will probably add items, but trying to focus on one task at a time. :D

Thinking about changing out the fuse box to a chip style fuse block on the Polara. Think 18 circuits will be enough

Another Friday, Another new day to do it my way

Good morning to all my busy, hard working coffee drinkin gear heads

Mike, When I was a young man, I started to learn the guitar, but life got in the way. They have nice inexpensive guitars in my Viet Nam city. I think when I get back, I will buy one and resume learning...Lots of time on my hands there.....

Early Mopar wiring worked pretty good until it got old or power sucking items were added. Heavy current traveling through the bulkhead to the ammeter and back out doesn't help. The connectors get hot because of excessive resistance and corrosion develops and the added resistance makes things worse. My tan Super Bee had that issue. No crank, pop the hood, wiggle the bulkhead connector, start it up and drive away. I finally drilled the cavity out and ran a wire straight through. The bulkhead connector is really there for assembly line convenience and for the tech that needs to do harness repair. LOL

Using my phone this morning. Laptop is being a total dog. Did a lot of surfing for info on TV and finding parts this last week- probably what gummed it up. Hit a lot of spammer/ clickbait ‘info’ sites. Running cleanup.

My main thought is availability. Chip fuses are easily found around here. Glass fuses have to be ordered, not even auto stores keep them in stock

You set yourself up,chris. 1 circuit is too much, you have that kind of track record…

Did a fuel pump on this here cobalt, they ran it out of gas. Gauge no worky. Its between floor and cluster,so not warranty and not an error on my part.

Just figure out where you are going to run circuits to. Then decide what wires you are going to use. Then mark on paper what color goes to what. Run the wires to each location together. Last thing is terminate them.

I figured lol
45 min. drive away. Almost tempted but I really want a 64 and not a huge fan of the color. Very nice car though.

well the idea was to cut out the factory style box and simply replace it with a automotive chip fuse box

Chris. Good grounds are important. Try to ground circuits together. Not splice grounds together. Run ground wires to a central location and ground to body together.

Get a wiring diagram. Before you start understand how it works. Follow wires on diagram till you get it.....study it.

Computer is cleaned out and rebooted. Working great again. Time to go do something on the shed. The sooner I get to work, the sooner I get another coffee break! :D
