Stop in for a cup of coffee

My 30-30 lever gun just loved pointy hollow points :D. It did however make the 7 shot magazine a 2 shot magazine. Pointy bullets point to primer in a tube magazine not a good idea
Yea. Some inventions have their limitations!

I'd think soft point 30-30 would take a deer down at 50 yds or even more.

They are old. Fortunately most are in better shape than the 1911s being retired out of US military stores now through CMP. And see the prices on them?! Nuts!
The M1 got a bad rap in some circles for being inaccurate. Kindof like some folks beleive car ammeters are designed to explode into flame.
My take on the carbine's bad rap has a lot to do with the training, or lack of, especial in Korea.

here's a comparison of 1980s surplus PS.
Korean .30 Carbine Surplus Ammo- Mini Review - CMP Forums

For what it is, not bad at even 200 yds.
That said, I'm going to try MagTech instead of surplus at then next competition I go to. Assuming I have time to make sure it zeros about the same. Pretty sure the bigger issues are the nut behind the wheel.

Filled my truck. Had 1/4 tank. First card

Pretty sure what I thought was a rib hurting is a strained or even torn muscle. It's getting better and I can do most things. Just a little sore most of the time now. Been wearing a wrap around my chest for work. Only really hurts doing specific things. The other day I was doing mulch with no problem and then took some trash out. Pulling the drawstrings on the trashbag got me. :BangHead: Last night I changed a cylinder and handle assembly on a pallet jack. Carried it down from the stockroom with no problem. Felt it pull when I had to put a fitting in and pulled wrench crossways...

Yep, when tearing a muscle away from tenden and bone it hurts like hell to move in a way that uses that particular muscle. Glad its starting to heal back in place, it will and has took time hasn't it :steering:

Reloading isn’t hard. So easy, even I can do it. Just have to follow instructions
As a reloading instructor I am going to challenge that, depends on how you define hard. Many students struggle with it. Shotgun shells are much easier, but the nuances of metallic cartridge reloading take years to learn. To use a analogy, that is like saying rebuilding motors is not hard. While I am in fact capable of doing it I know for a fact I do not do it well. While the motor may actually run (eventually) my skill set left an enormous amount of potential and reliability on the bench. Reloading metallic cartridges is much the same way, yes you can make it go bang but how much potential did you leave behind?

Just talked to the Dr. Surgery is done. All went well. She is in recovery now. They will bring her back here to her room in an hour.

That is great news Mike! Remember the post op 45 mins are crucial, that is when you get her blessings on that new car you been eyeing, before the meds wear off! Hehehehe

There is some experimenting required. I batch test. So I’ll load 100 rounds at X charge with X bullet, etc. test that with the chronograph and log it’s groupings. Then work up and down until I find the most consistent.

Got some more rust fixed. Stuck the grinder into my finger. Yup that hurt. Guess i should go disinfect it now.

Grinder gashes always are slow to heal, by the very definition they removed some of your hide! And often introduce and leave behind contaminants in the skin, just an all around nasty wound. And every single time you do it you think to yourself, dang it, I am smarter than that! Never stops me tho!

Ridged makes a good cordless grinder. BUT the switch is in a bad spot, I caught my finger in a metal cutting blade. It cuts fingers just as well as steel
