Stop in for a cup of coffee

a 360 would go in... a 318 would pretty much be a direct replacement and usually $150 for one that still runs..... :) That's the route i am going

Seems I'm going to hit pause for a bit while I sort things out. Have one more shop to call and walk through possible costs and timelines. The two I've spoken with are both about 2 - 3 months out...just whether they want it in the shop to be in line or you set a deposit to bring it in at a later date. End result is I wouldn't have anything back until maybe September or October

OK boys... discussions with machine shops... disheartening. Have to do a little soul searching on direction here.
Price? time? knowledge?
Is this in a build thread? not trying to make you repeat somehting here you already posted.

That's why i went the used/runable route.. my machineshop is like 6 months out... i am re-gasketing and upgrading and will replace the motor later when time allows.

Hmm...

Extra frame stiffeners required I imagine

Different K frame

Probably can't use the 904 I have?
Nope, you’d need a 727…

But you could find the swap mounts to keep your K, it you’d need bigger Tbars .

Then it mission creeps from there.

Im pretty sure I could source you a good used running 360 magnum here from a pic a part. Very inexpensive. Bring it to Carlisle....

Ok, good morning guys. 34 pages to read - nope. I hope all is well. Did I miss anything?

Tried to finally fire by boy's 460 and break the cam in. Me, Dad and Seth on Father's Day. Despite all the issues and set backs, it was truly great spending time with them. It seems the non adjustable valvetrain needs longer pushrods in this application. Way too much slop. Borrowing a adjustable pushrod tool to measure and order new ones. Hopefully this fixes the issue. Praying nothing got damaged!!

I like a 460.... Here's that torque you didn't know you needed :)

That doesn't surprise me. The shop in Dela that rebuild the AMC 360 I brought them was a couple months IIRC. If I had got there earlier in the say, it would have been faster but two guys came in before me.
Heads - don't even get me started. A good shop is always backlogged and if they do anything more than stock racers are always being squeaky wheels except maybe in early winter...

Fred pushing his drier around trying to get it started

Somehow I've done this (figured pushrods) without an adjustable tool. Done it a couple times. Can't remember right now what I did. It's possible I put hte adjustable rockers on - but its a different pushrod end so don't think that was it. Sorry my brain is in work mode and will be for awhile.
