Stop in for a cup of coffee

Kind of long but I heard about this 600 drone light show that happened near the 4th at a Grateful Dead show in Colorado.

Literally ZERO sleep and i am dragging ***... ugh.... and my phone seems to hate taking pics of red...

Mornin' all c\_/ I clicked the like button on the pretty red but I'll have to bring up the devil in the details. There are several spots where you will need to scratch away the paint to bare metal to chassis ground things.

Bonding brush is your best friend there.

Pretty amazing/scary the technology behind the swarming drones.
The Dead have 5 shows left and they're done, two at The Gorge here in Washington State then 3 in San Fran. People were speculating whether or not they'd do the drones again here, I kinda doubt it because of the winds in The Gorge and it was done to replace fireworks for fire safety reasons. I know they are doing some sort of 600 drone show at the All Star Game here in Seattle, not sure which of the 3 days they're doing that in, never seen drones used in this capacity and yes it would take some good brains and computers.

Was thinking.. only ground i should need is engine which i could do to the K-frame.. do the old single field regulators need a ground?

Yes all regulators need a ground. Starter relay, horn relay, and ECU if you run electronic. Might be more.

ah.. wasn't sure bout the single field.. never had one before.. well pewp... i have a screwdriver so making ground points will be easy :) And i'm running pertronix you sold me.. it's only been like 8 months, it hurts that you forgot me already :)

just fuckin with you :) I have customers come in all the time like "I have been here soo many times i should own the place!" and i look (my records go back to 98) and they have been in like 3 times.. last time was 8 years ago and they spent $5... sorry i forgot you... wtf :)

They have different pilots. make sure you get one the size of the smallest hole for the screw. They last a long time. Got turned onto them doing planes and avionics. he grounds had to be perfect!

I am pretty good at remembering the PIA ones. Prices get doubled.

Yeah, that is very cool.. i would have ended up using a razor and ******* it up... i'm a caveman at heart

Every ECU that goes through my handx gets hit on both sides. They really get screwy with a intermittent ground. Want the easiest way to test a ecu ground? Touch the transistor if you get jolted the ground is bad.

Look up yhat ad I had on for the ECU tester you will ge a laugh at it.
Just saw the ad and i am honestly more surprised they made an ignition tester.. that thing would be cool just to have on a shelf

That is a MOPAR factory one. Be gone prob Wed at Carlisle at that price. I am making regulator testers though. Just waiting on the project boxes.

You're Welcome!

Thanks... i'm not super happy with it but better than it was.. problem is that it looks way better than the rest of the car...
I figure with fixing rust all the sanding and **** i have like 40 hours into just the engine bay which is pathetic. also... i don't like red anymore :)
If you want to spice it up. Frame rails were black under the flange (sides) and also radiator support area viewed from the front.

All electric circuits need a way to return to ground. :poke:

They're all single field. :D
Really. 99% of the devices ground through their housings.
The alternator output returns through the housing. Doesn't matter if the field terminals and rotor are isolated.
I like those brushes just a nice round area stripped down to metal
Chrysler didn't bother and it worked fine.
Need to use screws with heads or washers that bite in.

Good Mornin!

Tim willl be my meter maid? Seriously a few tables of testers and prob 20 timing lights.
