I've been on liberty overseas during Ramadan, that sucked! I love eating the local foods but bad timing. Liberty policy was absolutely no walking around with food etc. Lot of other cultural rules, no showing the soles of your feet etc. etc.
Many years ago, I was with a US force with a UN mission in Bosnia. I was an area Provost Marshal with five countries with military areas of responsibility. Their Military Police commanders reported to me. One such country was Turkey. My interpreter and I had to occasionally go and meet with them. She warned me on the way the first time that we get in and out and don't stay for lunch. She said all they ever serve is fish and it was awful. We get there and the commander is running late and kept us waiting. He was embarrassed and sorry and insisted we stay for lunch. After going back and forth I agreed to stay. A small gasp was heard from my interpreter...haha. She was right it was the worst thing I'd ever tasted. The other things on the plate were ok a rice type stuff and a green leafy plant that helped get a few bites of fish down. On our way out the Turkish commander invited me back for the flogging of a couple soldiers for disciplinary problems. They did things different.

Wow, hard to screw up fish I would think but sounds like she knew. We pulled into Marmaris Turkey but it was the off season. Several shop owners opened back up because there was enough of us but a lot of the restaurants didn't open, glad I didn't try the fish!

Turkey was weird with food and agree any sort of fish run from. The rotisarry mystery meat was good though.

Here's how they cook fish most of the time in Vietnam. It tastes really good. I see that they have gutted it first. But the delicacy part of it is the head. They will eat the head and suck all of the whatever is in the head out while they're eating it. Kind of gross. I just pick at the sides and get the real fish meat. Lol

Dang that one looks like it would bite back, weird *** looking fish! I've had fish head soup, Mauritians made it for me, they filleted my Ulua or Skipjack and all they wanted was the head and carcass, made a great soup (invited me for dinner)

Shawarma, liked it in Israel, don't remember seeing it there but sure it was. Always wondered what the meat was "for sure"
Yes, before I knew any better, I ate a lot of mystery meat in Vietnam. Now they can't fool me anymore. Kkkkkkkk

When I worked in Redmond our boss would have meetings occasionally and would bring everyone in Viet sandwiches, don't know where he got them from but they were great, Bahn Mi I think.

Will check mine here.

Good morning everyone, life got a little better here on the hill, I may do some trimming up and roll edges in near the shop and water it in today, then I may not do a dayum thing, happy to say I didn't over eat yesterday, and proud I didn't.

Looks like some good eats there.
It sure was, my oldest packed up most leftovers to take to his in-laws, and to his house, memike and Mrs memike don't need all that here, so it will be enjoyable for the four folks in his family. I do have a few slices of smoked ham and smoked turkey brest..

Just got word my youngest son put some Bron on the ground!! Young doe will be nice and taisty indeed.
His shooting lane up in the Ozarks 60 miles away Last night before sundown, he left here after a couple hour of Thanksgiving fun, Creed and I enjoy wild meat and fresh fish, we are the hunter-gatherers of the family, Creed my youngest is on the far left, about to leave to go hunt.

Just ordered a bench mount sheet metal throatless shear. Checked with a few vendors, $300 ish and $150 plus for shipping. KMS tools, shear and a new face shield $335 to my mailbox.

And i finally ordered the weatherstrip kit for the studebaker. One for myself and one for a buddy, just over $1,000 usd. But there is a discount of 10% over 750 so it will help with shipping.

Went to the gym this morning and stopped by the liquor store on the way home. I reserved a Woodford Reserve holiday bottle edition which will be in Tuesday. I picked a couple more while I was there. These two kept showing up on the favorites list so thought I needed to try them.

Both good choices Craig. 1792 has a Sweet Wheat which is a tasty sipper as well.
