I could put the 4:10 back in it!!Have not driven it much with the 3:23 gears in it, might be ok as is....
After all the work putting in the 3:23's!!I could put the 4:10 back in it!!
Put a 3.55 in it. You will love it!I could put the 4:10 back in it!!
That is in your 66....Put a 3.55 in it. You will love it!
Exactly! Perfect gear for all around with a 3 speed trans. That is in your 66....
That was my thinking when I put those in there...Might get a set for my 69. I am getting good at gear swaps!!Exactly! Perfect gear for all around with a 3 speed trans.
Yeah, my ‘69 has 3.91 from the factory and I wish they were 3.55 to make Highway driving better. Switching to the 15” wheels and tires helped. My final drive ratio is 3.73 now which is decent. That was my thinking when I put those in there...Might get a set for my 69. I am getting good at gear swaps!!
I'm curious as to the ratio in the polara. Gonna have to get it back on the lift and find out. Did you see I'm having to fight the drums again?! I think I have a busted spring in them. I had them moving freely until I pressed the brake pedal as I was rolling . Locked the right front up and it won't release againYeah, my ‘69 has 3.91 from the factory and I wish they were 3.55 to make Highway driving better. Switching to the 15” wheels and tires helped. Hmm yeah. Question. Do disc brakes really stop that much better than drums?Wheel cyl sticking.
Don't heat fade . Better in rain driving thru water.Hmm yeah. Question. Do disc brakes really stop that much better than drums?
Nah, the entire industry switched to them because they felt like it...no real difference.Hmm yeah. Question. Do disc brakes really stop that much better than drums?
Depends. can't generalize like that. Take for example a 12"x3 front drum vs. 10" dia disk with a small pad and everything else is equal. In some ways its never equal because some people judge by braking effort on their foot. A duo-serve drum setup kicks butt in that regard. You can go on and on. Its all about how it works as system and whatr your goals are. For road racing and such, a well done disk setup is almost always preferable...Hmm yeah. Question. There is NO comparison between the two types.
Personally . I could never understand why they went from mechanical to hyd..
Yo yo goes up Yo yo goes down.
Hahaha the instigator strikes again
I knew Dave would love that one...
Yo yo goes up Yo yo goes down.
Fixed it.Hahaha the dumbass strikes again.
I think its much more about the better heat dissapation under repeated use, and less distoration when really hot. Also some people panic when drum brakes start to fade - because all the mechanical adventage of the self-engerizing fades away with it. Not to say their aren't crappy OEM front disc systems. Many a first gen SHO owner found that out. And there are some Subies that even in autocross seem a bit undersize in the front brakes. The drums keep the off gassing in side them. causing fade. The disc has a way for the off gassing to dissipate. simple as that really..
