Stop in for a drink.

thank you Fred, cheers

The native American that appears to be speaking to his gods on horse back, I have seen many of those and had one when I was 13, lost it when I moved to Arkansas to meet my father and older brother when I was 16.
I forgot what is wrote on it Ddaddy, driving me crazy..
My condolences sir.
Thank you. If the Native American piece is the one I recall from childhood, it was a remembrance to my father that we are decended from the Penobscot tribe in Maine, but also a print of a famous piece depicting the soul of all native Americans.

If it is what I think it is, I can think of no other person that I would rather gift it to than you. It would make me, and my father, happy to do so.

I will be glad to send it to you if you decide you want it. I will speak to you more about it in PM once it is in my possession and I can confirm what it is.

I did a bit of quick research. The piece is named “Appeal to the Great Spirit”. The Artist is Cyrus Edward Dallin. Circa 1908. The original piece was a sculpture followed by a painting of which this is a print.

Well Time for a drink I painted some front end parts for my son in laws Jetta today and the last coat a deer fly landed in about center of the hood that was just finished being painted and wiggled it's way to about top center before I picked his gummy butt out of the fresh paint. Should have left him there as a hood ornament. But what the heck cheers all.

Front bed solar lights are in. It needs another up light in the middle that I have...but is still charging since it arrived too late in the day to get a full charge. Will put it in to tomorrow.

Cheers!

Bought this today it was 43 bucks and is good but not my favorite.

Ted and I flew down to Cedar Rapids this morning to sample and buy a couple of these. Both were a Hy Vee store barrel pick. Both very nice.

Was a busy day in the yard today. Went and collected the remaining two dozen rocks I needed and finished the front side of the wall and added the last solar light. It’s 30’ from the light on the far left to the front edge of the wall on the right. I now only have the 30’ on the other side left to do.

Then I helped my wife plant the annuals in the front bed. 100 Vinca flower plants we started from seed 6 weeks ago. They will fill in nicely in front of the rhododendrons, pachysandra and forget-me-not perennials. If you look up on the Sheppard’s hook the birdhouse is hung on, you can see the chickadee coming in to bring her babies in the house their next meal.

Then the lawn guys came by and did the mowing and edging. You know the hard work you have been doing to get the lawn lush and full is paying off when the edging along the sidewalk looks like a hedgerow.

Lots of work and I’m tired...in a good way. Time for some cold beer and enjoy looking at the progress. Cheers!

I put the last up-light in the center of the front flower bed to balance the lighting...

And now some nice family time around the gas fire pit on the deck in the cool evening air...

We spent weekend down in South Dakota teaching Defensive hand gun skills to an entire family. They cooked an 18 pound prime rib on a Tragaer (sp?) for our reward. We ate and drank like pirates all weekend. I mean they seriously fed us. Event was at a hunting lodge.

Prime rib sounds good but I am stuffed. We went out for sushi. (I ordered rib eye and scallops.) Damn it was good. So was the sushi.

Oh look, another tree!

Last one of the season to plant in the yard. Got it half price at Lowe’s on Sunday. 8’ tall Cleveland Select Ornamental Pear to match the other two we planted last month. We wanted to get it and put it in the ground before the Summer heat hits. Looks like we made it by a few days. It’s supposed to hit 90* later this week.

We only got enough big rocks out of the hole we dug to go a third of the way around the 3’ diameter mulch ring. No worries, I know where to get more rocks!

Now time for some cold beer and celebrate, cheers!

It was a productive afternoon of rock collecting...about 400 lbs worth.

More than enough to finish the ring around the new tree and probably the one out back too.

My back hurts now...rocks iz heavy! LOL! Time to ice down the pain with some cold beer...Cheers!

Well, I’m about out of light and not much juice left in my battery for today...but I got the ring around the new tree done. I will recharge overnight and finish the other tree tomorrow.

Besides, I hate when doing work interrupts my evening beer...LOL!

Ted and I went on a run yesterday. Up to Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, then to East Dubuque and then to Galena, both in Illinois. We stopped at Blaum Bros. in Galena for a distillery tour and then stopped in Dubuque to visit friends on our way home.
