Mounted? Heads look “placed” Not seeing bolts installed....what head bolts are you using? the Trick Flow ones right??Well I got the trick flows mounted to day. I wish I would of got head studs instead of head bolts. Lol I don't know why but these heads were a ***** to get the dowels in the block to alone with the holes in the head. I was going to mike some guide studs, but I didn't have any bolts long enough. But any way I got them mounted. Now just wating for my intake to come back and save a little bit more for the rocker arm/push rods. Oh ya i have to buy some LA valve covers. The factory magnum valve covers would not fit. I was just going to use them to cover the heads up until my intake came back. My engine isn't much to look at but here is a few picks of them on.

Yes sorry I took those picks right after I put the heads on. Yes I used the bolts that trick flow recommends. Which are ARP bolts. They are very nice. I didn't get any pics with them bolted down.Mounted? Heads look “placed” Not seeing bolts installed....what head bolts are you using? the Trick Flow ones right??
Did the heads drop down over the dowels cleanly and the bolts thread in as they should or? From how you worded things I get the impression there may have been an issue with the pilot holes in the heads. Or was it just a fiddly deal for you and studs would have simplified lining them up? I’m being slow here I guessYes sorry I took those picks right after I put the heads on. Yes I used the bolts that trick flow recommends. Which are ARP bolts. They are very nice. I just think the holes in the heads are very persice and doing it buy my self didn't help. Lol pluse the truck is up in the air pretty good. I just think studs or just making a couple guide bolts would of helped out a lot. Also I hope it doesn't sound like I am bashing the heads. Because I am not. I cant wait till get it runing and get it to the track.Did the heads drop down over the dowels cleanly and the bolts thread in as they should or? The problem is that you have a stick shift car or i should say you have a clutch! I'm not bashing a stick, or your driveing skills! Lets get that out of the way first!I apologize for having to hit the disagree button but I can't get my junk to hook for nothing LOL....
So you might get the price for the first true 600HP* Trickflow headed small block on FABO!
People have been waiting desperately, like chewing their finger nails!!
*according to the Wallace calculator
101 at 3710 shows 594 when i plug it in on Wallace. MPH is how horsepower is calculated. ET isnt much if any of a factor
As an example my old car went 110 at 3350 pounds, wasnt even set up for 1/8 racing. Using this same calculator, that shows 693 horsepower. My car, at that time, actually made 640. Nowhere remotely close to almost 700
So i think the 626 horsepower is ULTRA optimistic.
Probably more like 560, maybe 570.
throwing big numbers around sounds good, but MPH tells the real tale.

Having said all that, great job with the new heads, very mpressive for the relstively mild combo he has
I would suspect its going to likely take a roller and lots of squeeze to legit break 600 with those heads. Might be wrong, but i doubt it...lol
This is what I used.

I really don't care how much HP it makes. It runs really good for what it is and it went 6.64 @ 101 all three runs so it will turn on MANY win lights. Win lights and pay days are what I care about.
you are using ET, not MPH. Doubt anybody on this board would disagree MPH WAY more accurate a tool to use for horsepower. Nobody uses ET.
Not picking on your results bro. Just saying( from experience) what i know to be true. Your truck runs great.
I fat fingered that disagree button. I should be an agree!!Maybe this will shut up a few of the guys that say they are junk. No they aren’t junk, your engine combo is JUNK. If you want to run a .500 lift cam use a damn j head or an out of the box Speedmaster Head.

Easy enough to fix, just click where it says undo rating , and then click the option you wanted.I fat fingered that disagree button. I should be an agree!!
Okay. Finally got my Trick Flow head 394 Dakota to the track for some test runs. Damn Covid!!!
It went 6.64 at 101 mph in the 1/8 mile.
The Dakota race weight is 3710lbs with me in it. I'm 180lbs.
I'm happy. I think 6.64 calculate to 10.50's in the 1/4 mile.
Engine specs are:
394 CI
3.79 stroke Mopar forged crank. Eagle H beam rods.
4.070 bore Weisco flat top pistons
Trick Flow 190 CC heads
Lunati flat tappet solid lift cam .581 int .601 exh
M1 intake
Com Cam magnum 1.5 roller rockers
950 carb
No hood scope and thru exhaust.
What was your old combo and what did it run for comparison?
The other engine:
360
4.030 bore SRP flat tops
3.58 stock cast crank
Scat I beam rods
Mopar 508 hydraulic cam
Edelbrock heads 171cc out of the box
Comp magnum roller rockers
M1 intake
750 Holley DP
The best it went was 7.08 @ 94mph and 11.41 @ 116mph
