Who wants a mopar turbo kit?!?!

-
I'm following... not sure how soon I would be able to afford a kit but I decided a long time ago I was going to build up my old 318 into a "mild" turbo engine (600 HP). I neeeed boost up here in the thin air, all the turbo cars around here will smoke even big-engine N/A cars because of the lower pressure. I've been wanting to get an old turbo DSM as my "commuter" and one of those with bolt-ons and tune would kill my Duster which I hate to admit lol

Very interested. Have a not street F body that should be under 3K w/driver I'm wanting to play with on a shoestring budget or half of one anyway. I'm wanting to do it on a Magnum but may settle for doing it on a Magnum intake/computer LA motor.

yup yup .. mite work well as a blow thro on my TBI engine ....

Just to be clear, along with power steering, your kit (with an intercooler) will work with the stock fan and the location of factory transmission lines going into a factory radiator?

If all that is do-able, I will be watching very closely!

500rwhp/ 450rwtq is all I’m really looking for out of a 302-casting-headed single-turbo 318.

For that low of a power goal, would total cost be a bit lower than the 800 horse kits?

Thanks,
Tyson

If you are spending money on a turbo kit, you should really think about a better top end combo. Just and fyi

How is it going? Would it be possible to mount turbo on drivers side? I also have J bars so I need to work around those

Thought I'd provide some updates for you guys. Still plugging along, but the weather (and new jobs for my wife and I) have slowed things down a bit. Just thought I'd post a few pics for you guys to drool and dream on.

The bright green is an A-body (71 demon) that I'm using for packaging, and then the darker green is my '62 B-body. I'll make sure to get it mounted up on another later B-and E body soon once I finish the pipe routing.

F/M body cars are still up in the air. They have more room between the lower crank pulley and the radiator to clear the J-bars, however if I put the hot side there it might not clear an A-body mechanical fan. We'll see... still working on fine tuning everything. The first picture is before I tweaked the bracket for filter clearance, but you get the idea where this is all going.

Looks good, but what do I do if I have J bars and or want to mount on driver side?

J bar in an A body with turbo will be tough. Take the j bars out and go in the fender well tied to the cage like I did mine. Twins will fit then! :D

True, unless I can find a way to mout turbo side ways, near where power steering pump would be or front mounted. If not j's out or done differently

like this :)
