Been watching most of the playoffs. And down to Yankmees vs Dodgers. Judge vs Ohtani, both great modest players.
Loved the outcome of this one with Freddie and a walk off salami!! On a seriously fd up ankle even.
Go Dodgers!

Freddie absolutely shat on the first pitch fastball. Dodgers needed that game one after using their high leverage bullpen arms. Should make for a good series.

Ouch, poor Yanks, that's gonna leave a mark....lol. Guessing Cole's not having a good nappytime,......

RIP Fernando Valenzuela

The first player I took note of after the 1970's Cincinnati Reds.

Rest in Peace Fernando

He was the hottest thing in baseball for most of his rookie year. We went to a Plodres game in San Diego when Fernando was scheduled to pitch that year. Most stadiums, Fernando pitches, full house! San Diego that night, like 8K spectators, and it was BEER NIGHT :wtf:  . We bought cheap seats, after looking at the attendance we relocated to about 10 rows behind the Dogger dugout

Tense ninth in game two. I had assumed that 4-1 was enough, sure didn't look like it for a few minutes.
Born in so cal, lived there for 65 years, Dodger fan.

Almost forgot to mention! My mom refused to go to the hospital to have me..... till the end of the 1952 seventh game was over, Dodgers/Yankees. (Yanks won, fourth or fifth ws win in a row)
Funny thing.... I've SEEN that game on you tube!

Stressful 9th, but the bullpen got it done. Hopefully they can get some length out of Buehler's in game 3. And hopefully Ohtani is good to go.
When the Bucs played them, Pirates pitching held Him to like 1 for 12 or something like that, unfortunately another Dodger whose name escapes Me atm knocked the sh*t out of us...lol.

Ohtani has a "mildly" dislocated shoulder. Whatever that is. Sort of a little pregnant.

hope LA can win the next two.

I've lived in SoCal all my life and been a Dodgers fan since they moved here from Brooklyn in 1958. Listening to Vin Scully on my transistor radio when I was supposed to be asleep taught me about baseball.
I've been privileged to be able to attend two World Series games. The first in 1959 against the Chicago White Sox where my mom and I sat under the thermometer in the peristyle end of the LA Coliseum...we were so far from home plate you needed binoculars to see the right field fence! The second World Series game was 1978 Game 2 against the Yankees where Bob Welch struck out Reggie Jackson to end the game.
Both games so far in 2024 have been exceptional!
Go Dodgers!

Thanks for sharing those stories!

That is very cool!
A buddy sent me this. Some of you guys may get a kick out of it. Vin Scully's '88 Gibson HR call over Freddie's game 1 walk off granny.

Freddies salami in game 1 rates #3 all time in WS for me. #1 was Joe Carters 3 run Homer to WIN the WS. Next was Batistas bat flip against Texas.
Here is a recap of game 2.
