morning fellers

a couple more people at my kids school got "symptoms" (now pay in mind, this isnt even the scary china sniffles, and NOTHING is confirmed, but they got the sniffles)
but they decided to close the school down today and tomorrow to do some deep cleaning
fine, whatever
BUT they are closed for valentines day, which is of course next monday THREE whole days after this added closure
(be patient, im going somewhere with this rant)
it just so happens, my oldest has a birthday party on valentines day, at a time frame that would normally fall after school anyway

so i got a text yesterday, an RSVP to the party, one of the moms is not letting her son come to the party in solidarity with the teachers that are staying home today and tomorrow

i cant even wrap my head around that kind of thinking

BREAKING NEWS!!! Valentine's Day is Sunday DIY.
but its observed on monday the 15th
(fine, the school closure was supposed to be for presidents day, but since we dont have a legally elected president at the time, i refuse to acknowledge the day either. but, as im sure you guys know, i dont like to bring politics into things, especially this early in the morning, so i called it valentines day)

LOL no wonder Fred it's in Montana. My mistake. It was an old gold mining town way back. A very dangerous place to live
I'll have to check it out.
Just looked at the weather report for the next few days and it's gonna get colder so hang on guys I think were all gonna get it.

That's strange DIY. We celebrate Valentine's Day on the 14th and not a holiday.
Or did I misunderstand?

no, you're right
valentines day is the 14th, and not a real holiday
here in the US, we have a national holiday on Washington's birthday, the 15th, that we call presidents day

but since the election was stolen this year, and the man living in the white house now is not our duly elected president, i decided not to acknowledge "president's day" and simply reassign it as an extra day off for valentines day

(made sense in my mind)

Minus 26F, feels like minus 47! this morning, can hardly wait to see how slow my hydraulic tailgate is going to be today. Last 3 days I have been averaging 7.5 minutes per pallet because of how slow it is now. That's 45 minutes to an hour per stop, 4 stops every morning.

That sucks.
When I drove semi in the oil field here many guys came up here from the southern states to work and what a mess they made in the winter at this temp. They had no clue on warming up there pumps and going slow while pumping crude oil till the pumps warmed up. snapped hydrolic hoses all the time and gelled up semis all over the place.
