[WANTED] 10 X 1-3/4” rear brake backing plates wanted

No. The 10x1 3/4” small bolt pattern backing plates are exclusively unique to the A body 8 3/4” axle only. They have a unique offset for the small bolt axles and will not work with any other axle, nor will any other backing plates work with them. However, you can make the 7 1/4” 10” backing...

76 340 duster overheating at idle

Hood to radiator support seal in place? Lower splash pan to radiator support seal in place? They help funnel the air through the radiator opening, not around it. And of course a shroud.

1966 Barracuda Formula S on Bring A Trailer NOT MINE

I remember meeting Mike Clifford at the Nats about 25 years ago. He was wheels up even back then, and helped me pick out a converter for my 66.

1966 Barracuda Formula S on Bring A Trailer NOT MINE

Yep, back in the 90’s it seemed like I was the only one doing an early A body. Guys at the Nationals we’re waiting for me to show up because they had really nice parts, and they knew I was buying. Besides my friend who was racing her early Barracuda, I can’t recall any early Barracudas, and...

    67 Barracuda Door/Window Question

The inside structure is different for all 3 years. I went through this with moparmatt2000 when he was buying some 69!door parts from me. I cut out the entire inner structure for him because of the difference. He can tell you the difference of every door, and how it relates to certain problems...

Does This Debunk the "Coolant Can Flow Through the Radiator Too Fast" Idea???

So, are you saying that a 160 thermostat should keep the engine running at 160 degrees?

If you’re going to scrap them, maybe message Leanna first and see if she wants them. If anybody can make those new again, it would be her.

Thank you for welcoming me i just purchased another project

I give that sweet little ride 2 thumbs up, a great big “atta boy” for bringing it back to life. Welcome to the wonderful world of FABO, and back to the early A ranks!

    Typical Fuel Pressure?

I would consider changing that rubber line from the pump to the carb, they’re readily available in pre-bent steel for not much money. Stick pumps generally run in the 6psi range.

    What "makes" a 66 Barracuda a Formula S ??

I just gave my buddy a pair of original 66 springs from a Formula S, 6 on the passenger, 5 on the driver. I’m not saying that’s gospel, just what I’ve seen through the years.

    What "makes" a 66 Barracuda a Formula S ??

This car has all the formula S suspension parts and the 4bbl engine. You could order all the Formula S parts except for the badging and stripes on any Valiant, or Barracuda in 65/66, it just won’t be a designated Formula S. It will be rarer than an S car tho, which doesn’t really mean much.

    What "makes" a 66 Barracuda a Formula S ??

The Formula S was primarily a handling package, brought about by the Rallye Pack option from early 65. It consists of…. HD leaf springs, 6 leaves on the passenger side, 5 on the drivers side HD “892/893” torsion bars, .870” dia Front sway bar 14x5.5” steel rims 273 4bbl engine Dash mounted...

Is your radiator support to hood seal in place? How about your lower splash pan seal, and your hood to cowl seal? Without them in place, air cannot be trapped in front of the radiator, it just goes around it. Kinda like sucking through a straw with a hole in it. The idea is to trap air in front...

I like the muscle, but who's got a custom?

Wow, that is a sweet little car. Although not a custom, I’m thinking that if this darn car doesn’t sell this year, I might go back to my plan to slam it, put some 17’s all the way around it, 2 tone copper and ivory paint job, and a Gen 3 Hemi!

    Need a little help

There is no trim on the flat straight area, just on the corners. On the straightaway, there’s body plugs that snap into each hole to keep dust and dirt out. That’s it tho, no trim.

What is the best/worst you've done when selling at a swap meet?

Probably $500 plus. Unfortunately the hood will probably never be used. The S car it’s slated for has been dormant since 1971, because of the aforementioned fender bender. 17k miles on it! 383 4 speed car.

What is the best/worst you've done when selling at a swap meet?

Walking around the Nats swap meet a few years ago and I see a 67 Barracuda hood leaning against the fence in someone’s spot. Super clean hood, and the inserts were perfect. I ask him how much and he says he’s been asking $200 all day but everyone just wants him to take the inserts out, give them...

    Summer Break In The 1970s

I’m sure you did as we did, cut the forks off of our parts bike and pound them onto the forks of our “good” bike! Instant chopper! Until you popped a wheelie and the forks and tire flew off and you had to land with no landing gear. Kinda looked like that landing by the kid jumping his bike...

65 Commando stock brake set up

To answer to the missing pieces…9” drum brakes do not have wheel cylinder push rods. The piston in the wheel cylinder is flat on the outside facing the shoe, and there is a tab on the shoe that is pushed by the flatted piston end. All V8 A body cars came with 10” brakes, front and rear.
