    Lost My Wife

I know that I don't post on here that often, but I check the site pretty much every day. I've been happy to help a few people with this and that. I'm devastated, I just lost my wife of 33 years to a heart attack although she had been having health issues for quite some time. If anyone is...

Finding somebody that is capable of tearing into one of those cast iron Torqueflights might not be easy. Good Luck and let us know how that goes.

    Got a rare project

The cars up until like 1962 had the extended crankshaft, both 318 Poly and big block-that is with the cast iron trans. The early 318 and early big block will both bolt up to the Poly trans with the correct bellhousing. The cast iron trans bolted up to the bellhousing just like a manual trans. I...

Are we getting more for our money??

I ran across one of these 78 Dodge diesel pickups in a Missouri junk yard back in the 90's. I did scarf the fender tag off of it. The only one I have ever seen.

    [WANTED] Small Block water pump

Look for a later one with the ribs on the snout, they have a larger shaft than the ones with the circles around the snout. They were originally police water pumps, but i see a lot of replacements are the one. They had a 5/8th versus the 1/2 shaft for the regular one.

    Posi Additive

The Ford additive is more readily available that the Mopar stuff is. They look and smell exactly the same to me. And i think the Ford is a little bit cheaper.

where online to order front end parts?

Bob-I would have thought you would have known about Rock Auto by now, all the years you've been messing with cars.

where online to order front end parts?

Rock Auto is always cheaper than Summit but shipping might offset that.

    72 340 choke style

That intake is a 73 intake. The 71-72 340 intake both used the open well with the cup and gasket-a nicer looking choke in my opinion. Then in 73-like your intake used a choke without electric assist, then 74 went with same choke type with the electric assist. All of these chokes are available on...

Vintage Direct Connection parts. Let’s see em!

Here is a cam I acquired years ago. I thought I would stick it in my 273 2 bbl engine in my Dart. a 284-528 solid for a smallblock.

    First mopar intake swap.

The Felpro thick gasket is 1646 at .313 thick, 35.89 at Rockauto and 44.99 at Summit. The SCE AccuSeal E 169076 is 28.39 at Summit, same thickness. These are both cork but they work. I installed 273 valve covers on a 360 with a Holley Strip Dominator intake and they fit great.

    First mopar intake swap.

There are a couple thicker valve cover gaskets, .313 thick. Felpro and SCE both have them. I'll get the part numbers posted later.

    TTI Exhaust question

I have 3 TTI systems and like the Dynomax mufflers, not to loud at idle or low speeds but sounds nice when you're on it. Borla's are good sounding but loud and I hate Flowmasters. My Mopar buddy's always said Flowmasters are Chevy mufflers, they got to impress you with something.

What year did the bypass hose size change?

Then you will need the larger bypass hose.
  23. lemondana

What year did the bypass hose size change?

If using the 70 up aluminum water pump with an intake that has the 69 and earlier smaller bypass hose fitting you have to use a 1" hose barb X 1/2" MPT fitting. You will have to use a brass fitting-the only thing that i have found. I like the clamp style that is smooth with a bead on the end...

[WANTED] 273 4 barrel intake manifold, early 64-65 with 5/16 bolts

The holes look drilled out to possibly 7/16 compared to the front AC bracket boss, which is 3/8. You're going to have to use fender washers on those bolts-sorry.

[WANTED] 273 4 barrel intake manifold, early 64-65 with 5/16 bolts

Kind of looks like the intake mounting holes have been drilled out. Compare those holes to the coil mounting bracket hole.
