Squeeling V belt and CVF alternator

It’s not going to help much but it could be the belt and a different belt and/or cleaning the pulley and belt might help? I didn’t have squealing from either my PS belt or alternator belt but replaced both since they had been on for quite a while. Thought preventative maintenance was a good...

    Anyone know anything about Subarus?

Very well said. It was sold cheap for a reason!! Your comment about ‘all it needs is a carb to run well’ is something all of us on this forum understand. It’s almost never that simple or else the seller would have done that to increase his asking price. Subaru's (similar to VW’s) have a cult...

Cooper Cobra vs BFG Ta's on 2nd gen cuda

Love it!! The angular lines (IMO) are awesome. Mine was red. Yours have the digital or analog dash? For that era it had some not so common standard features (LSD, 4 wheel vented disc brakes, power antenna, that awesome drivers seat, IRS).

    Another leaf spring question

Good call replacing that entire section! If you were only to use those reinforcing plates, you might as well also make sure the car has 10+yr old tires on it too. Total disaster waiting to happen.

Cooper Cobra vs BFG Ta's on 2nd gen cuda

Gotta love the A60 Supra’s (and Celica GT-S) with the 225/60/14 tires. The drivers seat in them are one of the most comfortable too!

Yup, my grandparents had one and it was working up until the late 1980’s. Nice and quiet (compared to other vacuums).

Found my dads original 1971 duster!

It sucks that he is still medaling in your project. I can see why PG Classics called him though. Yes, Brian called initially to inform PG to ship the panels to you since the build would no longer be in his shop when they arrived. You then called PG to confirm they would still be shipped to...

    Plymouth Feather Duster Questions

Use the online decoder and websites only as a guide but not for the truth. As another member stated, the feather duster was only available with a 225. The ‘G’ engine code in your door vin sticker indicates that car came with a 318 from the factory so wasn’t a real feather duster to start...

    How Many 64 Barracudas

In the state of Hawaii? Or California? Or the entire country? Yikes. Probably more accurate to start with how many rolled out of the factory and then just assume a 80% to 90% attrition rate over the past 6 decades.

Help decoding a fender tag. I have a lot of it decoded but there are a few I cannot find. 1972 Duster 340.

As someone else has said, how about telling us what you’ve got figured out already? Mind reading is tough enough w/o having to look at a tag with a few layers of paint on it making it harder to see all the codes.

Found my dads original 1971 duster!

Glad to read you are seeing the positives now! Yeah, it sucks being taken for a ride with your hard earned cash not being used efficiently by the restorer and the sting of that learning experience. However, you’re rolling up your sleeves and fixing things yourself with the help of members...

    Door Handle/Window Crank Position

Yes, given the numerous factories which pumped out the cars and the many different assembly line workers who placed the handles on and tightened with an Allen key, it sounds like a stretch. This might be similar to what radio station the cars left the factory with and, if an AM/FM radio was...

searching for front coil spring replacements for a 1975 Plymouth Scamp

Welcome and post up some pics of your Scamp! I’d suggest getting a copy of a 1975 factory service manual so you’ve got idea of what’s in the car and how to replace things as you go.

Great grandson of Walter P. Chrysler wants to buy the company back from Stellantis

Just cause he’s the great grandson of Walter doesn’t mean he’s gonna be any better than anyone else. Descendants leading the company that was founded by a famous leader/creator do not have a strong track record.

    On the pickin road again

If picking was easy then a lot more people would be doing it. The American Pickers show gives the illusion that almost every pick results in seeing a persons stash and maybe being able to buy a few things. That show never indicated how many rejected calls/hangups they had and nobody answering...
