    Dynomax Ultraflow mufflers..

I hated my new Flowmaster exhaust so much I tore it off my 1973 SpaceDuster 340-4psd with MP 508 cam and made my own setup. Ran 3" headpipes from the Hedman headers with an H-pipe then reduced down to 2.5" Ultraflows and finished it off with 2.5" Accurate LTD tailpipes and factory style SS tips...

    Thermoquad on Air Gap

I ran a thermoquad on my Performer RPM manifold with the 1" adaptor but I opened up the hood and installed the dual snorkle scoop. Doing this will give you more air cleaner options. I ran a 10 x 3 K&N extreme filter but with alittle more opening you could go 11" diameter. You'll also have to...

    TQ home-brewed choke setups

I ran a chokeless 850cfm TQ with a Performer RPM manifold & adaptor on my 73 Duster340-4spd combo without much issue. On cold weather starts I just pumped the hell out of it or poured alittle gas down the carb prior to starting. With a 4spd you can feather it till it wants to idle good. Warm...

    Action+Plus vs Stealth

I ran a Stealth manifold, 1" 4 hole spacer and a 750cfm Edelbrock on my 70 Duster 360 and it ran very well. The 750 cfm Eddy isn't great for gas mileage but performance was excellent.

508 or 509 Purple Shaft cam

I'd say it's a very rough & mean sounding idle. :D Ran the MP508 in my 340-4psd-4.10 SpaceDuster.

    Sub-frame connectors

Had mine installed on a drive on rack which I've heard is the best way. I made my own connectors then had the mufflers shop weld them in.

What carbs are you guys running on your 360's

I ran a #1407 Edelbrock 750 with a 1" 4hole spacer on my built 360 and it performed flawlessly with excellent throttle response.

    Sunroof panel removal thread

There was a post a few days ago about how to remove the sunroof panel in an A-body. I finally remembered how I worked on mine when I owned it. Close the sunroof about all the way but leave room to get your fingers in it. Remove the barbed trim buttons that secure the inner cover panel to the...

    american eagle radiator ae2375

I had a 22" two row with 1" tubes in my 70 Duster 360/auto and it cooled great even on 95 degree days. American Eagle $159 plus shipping last year. Heckuva Ebay deal.

    cat wiskers

The Metro moulding ones I got off Ebaymotors for my 1970 Duster fit perfect and were just like original. I think I got some for my 1973 Duster from Year One and wasn't real happy with them either. Can't remember who the supplier was on the YO whiskers but they had the same fitments issues.

Oil viscosity - why the 20W-50 BS?

Lighter oils like 5W-30 or 10W-30 are fine for most applications but I wouldn't recommend it for long trips in 95 degree heat on a high performance motor turning around 3000 + rpm steadily on the highway. It kinda turns to the viscosity of water from my experience. LOL!

Get a mini-starter as a factory style starter won't last long on a car with headers.

    Trouble Timing my 340

On my old 1973 Duster 340-4spd with 4.10's I ran 22 degrees intial and 36 degrees total all in by 2200 rpm. My 340 had the MP508 cam and 7" vacuum is normal for that cam.

    Starter heat soak ????

Ministarter is the only way to go in my opinion. It will solve your issue.

    1973 340 space duster

Thanks crackedback for the compliments! My old Spaceduster is still in the NY area I believe. The present owner purchased it by trading his 64 Max Wedge clone car for it. The previous owner was asking $26,000 for the Duster but he had repainted it, engine re-gasketed, new clutch and put back to...

    1973 340 space duster

Here's an old post of mine on the subject of sunroof A-bodies and fold down rear seat cars. There are no specific numbers available on the two options. Does yours have the fold down rear seat and sunroof? http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=14452&highlight=sunroof+cars

    pinon angle

On a street car try to get the pinion angle and transmission angles slightly offset. If the u-joints directly oppose each other it can cause vibration. You can use shims under the tranny mount and/or pinion angle shims under the leaf springs to achieve a good pinion angle setup. Search the web...

I used the 15-40W Rotella diesel oil in my built 360. Works good and has plenty of zinc in it.

Fan shroud for aftermarket aluminum radiator

I doubt you'll actually need the shroud to help cool with the aluminum radiator and flex-o-lite fan. But it's nice for safety if that bothers you. My 1970 Duster 360 with a new 22" 2 core 1" tubes aluminum radiator and flex fan stays cool now all the time over the old stock radiator which was...

Another champion radiator chapter with pictures

American Eagle radiator which is owned by Champion. $159.95 & $29.95 shipping. Not speced out for my 1970 Duster with later built 360 but all I had to do was redrill 3 hole locations in the radiator bracing. It was lacking about 3/8" of dropping down & lining up like my old factory syle...
