    New Tow Rig

sweet truck! i miss my old 1st gen. best truck I ever owned. Switched to a 98.5 4x4 and no it doesn't hold a candle to how the dually went down the road.

    383/496 6 pack Build

On the cam I was not at all happy with the purple shaft .509 on either the 340 six pack in my cuda or the 440 six pack on my dads GTX. We switched to the Performer RPM cam in both and are very pleased. I have the Summit cam -.466/488- in my 383 Duster and in my friends 440 in his '70 Charger...

    engine weights 383 vs 318/360

Thanks for the info... Looks like that info is right on as far as the intake is concerned. I weighed mine in at 41.5lbs for the iron and 14.8 lbs on the Eddy Performer intake. The rest of mine is just the stock iron setup.

    engine weights 383 vs 318/360

I'm swapping out the intake on my 383 today, stock 383 4bbl cast to a Performer dual plane. I will throw them on the scale when i get it pulled off.

Installing the 383 in my 75 Duster

Went with a different drivers manifold and all is well. Now to finish buttoning everything up. I used #3830800 and it worked very well. I see this manifold was used for everything from Newports to RV's.

    HP Manifolds

Ok I just did the exhaust thing on my '75 Duster and i can say that the C-body drivers do not work (at least on later A's) without mods, as it drops right on the slip joint for the steering box (mine has PS). I used a manifold #3830800 and it worked perfect and way cheaper and easier to find...

Installing the 383 in my 75 Duster

It's actually hitting when I turn the wheel and the "flats" hit against the manifold. Thinking I'll have to switch to a u-joint or find a different set of manifolds :/

    Power Steering gearbox splines

Does anyone know the spline count and shaft size for a PS box on a 75 Duster 360? Probably going to have to go for a u-joint setup so I can get clearance for the 383 manifolds.

Installing the 383 in my 75 Duster

I believe you are right on the C-body drivers manifold. And yes it does have P.S. Not sure if there is a way to modify the coupler or if I just have to find a set of early B-body manifolds.

Installing the 383 in my 75 Duster

Well guys I got the motor in but the drivers side manifold and steering shaft coupler are hitting. Any ideas?

Installing the 383 in my 75 Duster

Thought about the K-member thing but I just don't have the room in this garage. I did this on a 94 Camaro that I did a LS1 swap in and it worked ok but I had a nice big well lit shop to do it in. Just running stock manifolds they decode as 70-71 B/C body 383/440

Installing the 383 in my 75 Duster

I have a question before I get too far along on dropping the motor back in. I plan on installing the motor and trans as one unit but was wondering if I should put the exhaust manifolds on before I drop it in also. My car has PS but manual brakes. Just wanting to save myself a headache if I can.

    383 swap motor mounts

I have a 75 duster 360 with spool mounts and I was wondering if I can use factory C or B-body 400 spool mounts for my conversion or if I have to use the Schumacher kit? Has anyone had any experience with either?

    TBI on a 383?

I have been looking at quite a few different setups. I had a couple friends running pro-jection on their jeeps with mixed results. Looks like the fast-efi may be a good way to go but it aint cheap. I have a buddy thats a computer geek and said he can program a gm computer and TBI off of a 454...

The weathermen finally got it right.....

I am just on the east side of Coeur d'Alene and I got a little over a foot up here. This sucks! I hate the drive to Spokane in this, too many people have no clue how to handle the snow and slick roads. I watched some moron pass me going down the hill going 60 and then slammed into the divider...

    TBI on a 383?

I should be getting my 383 back from the shop this week so I can start putting it together. I have been giving some thought to running a TBI setup on it. It is going to be fairly close to stock. 9.5:1 comp, probably a step above the stock cam and a 727TF. Origionally I was going to just...

    383 in '75 Duster

Well I picked up two '70 383's today. $220 for the pair seemed reasonable. One is supposed to be out of a truck and has the front sump pan. the other is supposed to be out of a '70 charger and does have the center sump pan. Both have the stock dated 2bbl manifold and are complete. Going to...

    all show /6 exhaust

I had a good friend of mine put AAR style exhaust on his slant duster. He ran something like a 24" cherry bomb then split it. It sounded way mean for a 6-popper.

    383 in '75 Duster

I found a great deal on a '70 383 and was thinking about picking it up for my Duster. Having a bit of a dilemma though. I really don't want to cut it up too much as it is a factory s-code #'s matching 360 car. With the Schumacher mounts are there any modifications that would make it so I...

    1975 & 1976 360-Powered Models !

Was a 4bbl offered in '76 or just in 2bbl form? From what I could find my s-code duster was one of about 1,400 made in '75. Several sites I have looked at said that it was the last year of the factory 4bbl's.

    1975 & 1976 360-Powered Models !

I have a '75 Duster 360. It is a great car. Factory red with black interior, tuff wheel, PS and manual brakes. I did add the early a/b body dual hood scoops and go wing. It is 100% origional save for a second paint job. Hard to track down actual production numbers and decode the vin tag...

    Post your sound bytes here.

Dont know if anyone got back to you on your cam but I tried the 508 for my cuda and my dad has the 509 in his GTX and we swapped both out for the edlebrock performer RPM its like a 484/510 i think. A way better cam for street driving. Still has tons of power.

    Cam selection - 500HP 360

Granted its a 340 but the engine I built up in my cuda pulls 433 HP. I run a 6-pack setup and an edlebrock performer RPM cam. The heads are 202/160 and ported and polished to flow with T/A heads. I have a lot invested but well worth it. I tried the .508 Purple Shaft cam but it was way less...

How much CFM for a 360?

Im running a 750 Demon on a stock 360. Its a little much but still vac. secondaries. I had to lean it down a bit like others have said. I used to run a 750 Double Pumper on the 340 in my Cuda, didn't like it nearly as much.

    Small block to Big block?

I've been trying to decide what option I want to go with. My car is a factory #'s matching 360 car and I don't know if I want to keep it that way or swap out to a 383 or 440. I was wondering if anyone has a streetable big block in their A-body, and if they have had any difficulties. Thanks.

    360 Build - Suggestions????

I had the purple shaft in the 340 in my cuda. It was ok but i gained much better idle and more mid range power using the edelbrock performer rpm. The car was also over .2 faster in the 1/4

    Another New Guy

Hows it going everyone. I've had my Duster now for about a year and have been driving it regularly. I decided to start the resto. on it this year. I started decoding the vin and found out that it is a factory '75 360 car. Just curious if anyone knows where i can find a fender tag decoder for...
