    Unhooking kickdown

Unless you have a full manual valvebody you must use the kickdown linkage because it regulates line pressure. In other words if you dont use it, youll burn up your transmission.

Full manual valve body install .

Get the proper manuals for your torqueflite, study it. You'll have no issues. Tsg is the one I think folks reccomend.

    shift kit

Is there a way to tailor the shift kits to get rid of the "goes back to low at any speed" feature? That just seems like an accident waiting to happen on the interstate. Well I would do it myself, but I dont have time. I could see myself spending at least 4 weeks on that project and the dart is...

    shift kit

Hey guys, I'm calling around for quotes to get my /6 904 rebuilt and I wanna go ahead and get a shift kit to put in it. Im lookin at transgo products. Whats the difference between TF-1 and TF-2? Which would be better suited for a 100% street car application?

7-1/4 axle modification - SBP to BBP

Steelies are cheap, if you are willing to do a little restoration on them. I bought my set $20 bucks a rim. I've already sandblasted them, now I just need to do pitting filling and paint. Don't know what the finished value would be but definitely more than $20 a piece.

7-1/4 axle modification - SBP to BBP

Well the thing is, your ego or your wallet will win. If your ego wins you get an 8-3/4" and if your wallet wins you'll get a good rear quicker so you can have fun sooner and delegate the saved money torwards that 360 youre talkin about.

7-1/4 axle modification - SBP to BBP

Bob are you planning on running slicks? Ever? How about a manual trans? If the answer is no, seriously reconsider going 8-1/4" and calling it good. It'll live fine behind a modest 360 on street tires with an auto. And btw, your 7-1/4 is fine for now, the original one in my slant car...

7-1/4 axle modification - SBP to BBP

Woah woah woah.... Back the money spending train up. Whats your plans for this 273? A 6-71 blower and a 250 shot of NOS? Instead of spending $170 for adapters and down the road spending $900-$2,000 on an 8-3/4" just get a bbp 8-1/4" with 10" drums for $200-$400. You'll be hard pressed to...

    /6 Lockup Tranny

Well I know the 3.55's aint responsible for 8.5 mpg but I know it certainly ain't helping either. I figure if everything is working the way it should be my highway mileage should be about 20ish even with the 3.55's. I just can't believe the transmission is slipping that bad.... Well I kinda...

    /6 Lockup Tranny

Well, the timing is spot on, it has a new coil (I kinda broke the negative tower off the old one) it has new NGK long reach plugs gapped .037" IIRC wires are new, carb's in good tune and tire pressure is at 24 psi. Engine idles and runs fine without a hitch. The two other things outside the...

    /6 Lockup Tranny

Got several questions about lockup tranny's as I got one that will soon be going in my car. What speed does...

    4.30 W/28" Rubber or 3.90 on 26" Shoes?

Well that effectively settles this question. I still wanna hear roccodart440's reasons for not carrying spares. I wanna know if there is some kind of advantage I've never thought of.

    4.30 W/28" Rubber or 3.90 on 26" Shoes?

Cool, didn't that but I assume that would be due to the sure-grip differentials. Good point, I forgot he would most likely have a sure-grip. Care to share insight on why you don't carry spares?

    4.30 W/28" Rubber or 3.90 on 26" Shoes?

Why do you have to have a compact tire of the same diameter? All the donuts I've ever seen are way smaller in diameter then the other tires. You could also do like I do and not carry a spare and just bring a tirepatch kit with you as well as a roadside emergency kit (with 12V compressor).
