1968 Formula S...modify it beyond return?

WildCat hit the nail directly on the head! I agree with what he said about his cars too. BTW, that Imperial is sweet! I would love to have a nice one of those... Dalas

    vanity plates

I eventually sold the Barracuda and got a 2012 Rallye Redline Challenger. I couldn't believe I was able to get my RALLYE tag! I thought it would have already been taken by someone with an older Rallye Challenger. Dallas

    vanity plates

MO only allows 6 characters so you are limited. When I had my '68 Barracuda I wanted to get A-CUDA since it was an abody. I guess that was taken so I tried for B-CUDA since it was a Barracuda anyway, and I got it! Dallas

Is it just me, or does this seem backwards?

All of them are too high. The one for $12k looks the best at first glance but the body looks wavy and the paint is tiger striped like crazy.. Dallas

high impact colors with small engines

I had several of them back then, a '70 Duster 318 in hemi orange, (export car with an 8 3/4 rear too! and I parted it out since I didn't have a title!), a /6 Duster in the same color (had the window sticker for that one!), a '71 Challerger 'vert with a 318 in curious yellow, all come to...

    Struggling with my project

That is the fender you need to practice on then. As others have said, work on small projects to develop your skills and confidence, then work up to the larger ones. As you develop these skills you might be surprised how well you are able to repair that fender. Dallas

    1987 dakota questions

My Dad had an '87. The only problem he ever had with the 4wd was the vacuum lines would get bad on the ends and the 4wd wouldn't engage. It's been awhile so I don't remember exactly how it was set up but I think the hose would crack at the nipple on the manifold on the top side and would get oil...

    Non mopar colors

Rani, If I was going with the color on the GTO I would consider painting the roof some type of red metallic (maybe the Ruby Red Wildcat mentioned). That may sound odd, but notice how good the redline tires look with that color. I think the car would look really classy with that combo. A Ruby...

Duster 340 not a muscle car...

Bill has given the correct answer here with the history of the term. Of course, over the past 50 years or so the term has evolved, as have the cars. Also many people born after that time have no knowledge of the history of the term. Mopar hit the nail on the head with the '68 Road Runner, a...

I'm confused! Please answer my question!

So when it shifts, rpms don't fall too far below the horsepower peak. If it shifted at 4000, the rpm drop would put it way under the powerband. Dallas

    Custom project

Sorry, I don't. I didn't even think to take any when I saw it. I'm sure it's still sitting in the same spot as when I saw it last. He has a half dozen (at least) vehicles that have something wrong with them-----but he's going to fix them up someday.. :wack: Dallas

    Custom project

A neighbor has an early Barracuda someone made into a pickup. Pretty easy with the large rear glass. It's a 273-4 speed car too! There was an article in a magazine a couple of years ago with some artist's renderings of some alternative vehicle designs. One was a Duster made into a pickup. The...

Sell 383-S Fastback for E-body project??

10K would go a long ways toward fixing the e-body up. I'd go for it. I get tired of looking at the same stuff all of the time. Sometimes it's time for something new. Dallas

    help with vin #

I was the 'check in' guy at a car auction starting in the mid '70s. I can recall seeing some cars that actually had a digit missing from the vin plate. Quality control at it's best lol. It didn't happen often, but it happened. Most likely a typo in this instance, though. Dallas

    Fender Flares?

There was a magazine article years ago about flaring the fenders on a '71 or so B-body. I tried to google the article but didn't find it. However google images had a few pics of Mopar car with flared fenders. Dallas
