Yes, A member here, gave those to me, and I cut the tops out. I was also having oiling problems.BUT...... I found out that it was the Howards camshafts fault. The cam was not drilled properly on the #4 journal....Cost me a lot of Time, and Money.......

If you install that cam dot to dot, it should be at 106. However, you definately should get a degree wheel and degree it to be sure it is at 106. It aint hard to do, and it's good insurance.. I think you can use the old 318 springs if you want. or use just your new outers. A lot of people will...

If anything other than stock, use a high pressure pump, or shim/modify the spring in a stock one.

I like to use Knight's Spray 9. Works good and is Biodegradable. There are similar products on the market tho.

You should have enough room to do it.. Make sure you have a long enough priming shaft.. Should be 5/16 hex
