    Rani, see if you can borrow or rent a ridge reamer. They work very well, and will solve the upper bore problem. I have used them many times over the years...

    Yes, A member here, gave those to me, and I cut the tops out. I was also having oiling problems.BUT...... I found out that it was the Howards camshafts fault. The cam was not drilled properly on the #4 journal....Cost me a lot of Time, and Money.......

    If you install that cam dot to dot, it should be at 106. However, you definately should get a degree wheel and degree it to be sure it is at 106. It aint hard to do, and it's good insurance.. I think you can use the old 318 springs if you want. or use just your new outers. A lot of people will...

    Yup... I have a few of them special tools layin around. I will say that you need to grease the tool, so it collects any shavings tho, if you didn't.

    Go to your local Auto Parts Store and look in the Help/Motormite section. Just got one there for my 383.

    You should have enough room to do it.. Make sure you have a long enough priming shaft.. Should be 5/16 hex

    Hit it with a 1/2 Air Hammer on 3/4 power and be done with it.
