    I'm addicted to Hot Wheels!

Speaking of hot wheels, I use a USB thumb drive a lot at work so I thought I'd make a custom one:

    California Gas Pumps

Ever since I got to California, I can't for the life of me get the hang of the gas pumps. They all have the rubber vapor fitting that seals up against the filler inlet. If I squeeze to more than a slow flow of gas, the pump will click like it's full. California guys, is there a trick I'm missing...

Anyone gone cross-country on Route 66?

Looking at pictures and hearing you guys talk about it definitely makes me want to make this happen. I laid out a set of potential stops so that's one step closer! Once it gets a little closer to the trip I'll start up a new thread and try to get pictures up along the way. I've got a set of...

Anyone gone cross-country on Route 66?

Hi all - been a long time since I posted anything, haven't had much time to work on the Duster in a year or two but I always appreciated all of the help here when I was in the middle of a project or two. I'm thinking of taking a cruise from around St. Louis to San Francisco - out on Route 66...

    Non-matching fender tag

    Guess it could be a mis-strike but I doubt it. I have a 73 duster built in Hamtramck, the fender tag is for a 72 4-door valiant built in Ontario. Here's the full fender tag info (VIN # is VL41C2R327531) V5X END H51 L31 M21 M25 M38 R11 V1F U 22 C12 F11 G33 GY4 C4F6 GF7 529 292719 E24 D34...

    Non-matching fender tag

I've got a fender tag off a 72 Valiant that came on my 73 Duster when I bought it a few years back, for some reason. I don't want it on there since it's from a different car. It's probably a long-shot but I thought there's an outside chance someone would be looking for it, if the car didn't get...

    Teenagers / Classic Cars ??

Loved getting a Duster at 18. So much to learn working on the older cars and it's just so great to cruise around in something nobody else my age has. Plus my parents love it, if I'm in the garage working on the car then I'm not out causing trouble, just spending my money!

Sure has come a long way!

Warning: lots of pictures (plus two youtube links) ahead. Hard to believe I've had my Duster 2 years and a month already. Since I get so much help here on FABO I thought I'd share what 2 years of progress looks and sounds like! Then: video when I first had the car home Along the way...

    Fathers Day

Had the car show yesterday, and my mom and I got my dad 12 beers from 12 different countries in the World Cup since we've been watching that the last couple of weeks, and we did the same thing 4 years ago. Went out for a huge Sunday brunch today and I'm firing up the grill for dinner tonight!

Picked up her first car show award today (and Mopar Pics!)

Today was the MDA Benefit Show here in Champaign. The Duster picked up 2nd in the "Under 21" specialty class! It was a great day, lots of nice cars, and a few Mopars! Here's me with the Duster after the show: At the show: Challengers old and new: 440 Six-Pack Cuda: This was a fully...

    Temp Gauge Died

So, my temperature gauge conked out on the Power Tour. I'm not sure it was ever reading right, it would barely say 150 degrees even after 2 hours on the interstate non-stop. I don't think it's the voltage regulator, though, since the fuel gauge still works fine, and I don't think it was...

    Power Tour 2010

Well, I made it back home safe and sound! She's riding about 3 inches lower in the back than when I left, I guess I should probably get some new leafs in the back after hauling all that stuff around. No idea how old the ones on there are at all. Also had to top the brake fluid off a few times...

    Power Tour 2010

Anyone else going/already on the power tour this year? I'm taking my Duster and going with a friend in his 'vette over to Springfield today and following down until Chattanooga this year, hoping to see some other mopars and a-bodies over there!

Small thing that irratates you about your car

I dunno what this is that's leaking, it pools on the driver's side front on top of where the oil pan bolts up to the car so it must be leaking down the front of the engine somewhere. Anything like that is not gonna be a cheap repair so here's to hoping it doesn't get worse because I'm too broke...

Small thing that irratates you about your car

New one: it started leaking antifreeze, like a drip a minute kind of leaking. Not cool.

    mecum auction pics

Nice pics. Just was watching the auction on TV and saw a Plum Crazy Hemi Challenger Convertible (1 of 5 with a 4 speed apparently) not sell, top bid was $675k. There are some unreal prices out there for cars. Someone got a hell of a deal on a GT500KR (I know it's not a Mopar but still a sweet...

Its summer and your ride is on jack stand

Yep, she's stuck up on jack stands here too. Got a new exhaust, now I'm waiting for new motor mounts because the exhaust doesn't clear anything. I thought I'd be done by yesterday! Unfortunately I'm running out of time to get this done before I'm out of town and then I come back and have to get...

Small thing that irratates you about your car

I'm not a fan of all the paint flaking off my engine (thanks to a high quality job by the P.O.) and since I've only had it a year every little new flaw I find bugs me, a little paint chip or rust spot or something on the underside or whatever. Stuff like that just bugs me because I know it will...

    Proper floor jack point

I'll probably end up doing each side one at a time on the rear sub-frame. I figured it would be easier to do the exhaust pipes if I supported there instead of on the axle, since there would be more room over the axle to get the pipes in.

    Proper floor jack point

Hey guys, what's the proper place to jack up a 73 Duster in the front and rear? I've been jacking it up under the K-member in the front and supporting it under the rectangular sections on each side behind the wheels but in front of the torsion bar support crossmember. I haven't had it up in the...

    Help, ID this manifold

I'm going to get the mani's ceramic coated and put in a new manifold-back TTI system... I paid an arm and a leg for that, I don't have the cash for headers!

    Help, ID this manifold

Cool! Those manifolds were a pain to get out.. I had to drop the right one out the bottom and work the left one out the top... but she's all ready for a new exhaust! I don't even want to think about what headers would be like.

    Help, ID this manifold

Is this a 340 HP driver's side or just something similar but different? I can't read the stamp on there, it is looooong gone.

Now who would do a thing like this?

Those things on the end are louvered resonators, right? Also I found one more for ya mopardude. Little bit of a leak there. Top of that janked connection I showed before.
