    Engine mounts

Yeah I tried spacers but doesn't seem to help. I know the engine is offset to the passenger side stock. Mine seems to be the same distance from either fender. fastmopar

    Engine mounts

Is there a right and left specific bracket for mounting the engine to the K member? When I tried to install my 318 block with 360 heads and tubular headers, the headers sit on top of the steering shaft. Even the stock headers seem pretty close to the shaft. Any thoughts?? fastmopar

    Freze Plug

Guys! Jeeze.... Just wanted a little feed back onwhether the block might have cracked. Didn't want to start WWIII. I didn't have antifreeze in it because I was not sure I wasn't going th have to pull the Engine/Trans again. And yes, no matter what the "real" function of a FREEZE plug...

    Freze Plug

WELL..... My 72 has been out in the driveway for a couple of single digit temperature days. I moved it into the Garage this last weekend then went out to clean up the driveway. A freeze plug was sitting there. The engine had H2O, no antifreeze in it. Had not progressed to the antifreeze level...

    What the heck!

Milodon has a problem. At $100+ for the pan it should fit perfectly and not have a leak issue. The gap you are showing is WWWAAAAAYYYY too much. The Rubber should be MAYBE 1/8" longer than the pan. Not 1/2". This looks like a 318 pan trying to fit on a 360. Get Mancini to replace it with a pan...

    Edelbrock Carb & Timing

Further...... In beating my head against the wall..... I switched the plug wires around 180 degress.... fun flames. I cranked the distributor back and forth without the timing light..... I left the vacuum advance hooked up while using the timing light.......... That's why I walked away. I had...

    Edelbrock Carb & Timing

A few days ago I posted for some help with my Edelbrock Carb on my 318 I had just been able to get up and running. I received a lot of good input and it help diagnose the problem. The problem was actually timing. It was about 60 degrees too far advanced. Not sure how the engine even ran. I...

    Edelbrock Performer Carb

Wow! Thanks for the input. Went to Edelbrock Web Site and printed out the installation guide for the 1407 Performer (what I have). This document says the left hand port is for emissions controlled engines. The port on the right is for non-emissions controlled engines. The only emissions piece...

    Edelbrock Performer Carb

Anybody running a Performer on their small block? There are two vacuum ports on the front of this carb. Which do you use for the vacuum advance? I bought this carb at a swap meet so I didn't get an owners manual. Also, are you using the temperature controlled hookup? It's a tower thing that...

    Urgent help needed

I started it up and no lifter noise! I so happy I could.... I am really amazes this engine starts with a key twist and idles pretty smooth with a static timing, on three year old gas. So, fill the fluids and teak the timing, fuel air mix. Oh yeah, make sure the brakes work..... fastmopar

    Urgent help needed

I hope everybody on this site takes note of this. If you have your engine rebuilt and they flush the block this oil galley plug I am talking about is removed. It may be missed on installation because of where it is located. Check for this oil galley plug. I checked last night and mine was...

    Not so urgent

Yeah I think I'm just paranoid about this engine. I went out last night after the owls went to bed and checked a 318 with stock intake I have stored. The gap is there. Plugged with ****, but not covered by the intakes. Thanks for the answers. fastmopar

    Urgent help needed

THANK YOU FOR ALL THE REPLIES. Even if I only use them to be sure my brain is functioning on the right track, they are helpful. I also checked with a professional engine builder friend. He said to be sure that the plug at the end of the lifter oil galley inside the block is in place. This plug...

    Not so urgent

There is a half moon shaped slot (opening) in the heads over the center exhaust cross over. (This is the port that directs exhaust gas under the intake.) This half moon slot (opening) looks to be a water jacket in the head. If it is, then the Edelbrock intake I have dosn't cover the slot and I...

    Urgent help needed

I just cleaned and reinstalled my lifters in the 318. They are dry, no oil. When the cam comes up to the top of the lobe there is absolutely no play in the lifter. It's like the hydraulic lifter is completely collapsed. Is this normal? I checked the dry lash and it is in spec (.060 - .210)...

    Tappet noise

I started my engine last night after 3 years of sitting partially done. It's an overbored 318 (.060) with 360 heads. I matched lifters and push rods to the heads (They came from the 360). Once we got fuel to the carb...... it started right up. Idle was a little rough, probably due to...

    Engine Combo

Thanks for the .02. I'll let you know when it's running. If it's a total disappointment.... I've got an 05 5.7 sitting in the garage. I've done the research and swapping it is is very doable. fastmopar

    Engine Combo

Thanks for the opinion. When I get it running I'll let you know. If this combo is disappointing my next plan is to drop the rebuilt 5.7 from an 05 Magnum R/T into the Dart. Lot's of research. Very doable. fastmopar

    Engine Combo

Just cause I'd like to hear your opinion.... And find out if anyone else has this combo...... 318 from a 69 Dart, bored .020 over, with R & R'd 360 heads, Edelbrock aluminum 4bbl intake, Edelbrock 750cfm Performer 4bbl carb. Unfortunately stock headers for now. A/C delete and fan delete. Let...

    Gaps and holes

I have a .020 bored 318 with 360 heads. The aluminum Edelbrock Intake leaves a gap in thecenter of the head. It matches the contour of the intake runner. Not a hole in the intake runner. This above and surrounding the runner. Is this normal? Will it leak coolant or oil? Do I need some sort...
