anyone know the diameter of the large u joint on a 8.25 rear? the u joints i have are 1.078 and it would be pretty spectacular if these were too. i could test fit but my car is 15 mins away and I'm at work and could have the u joints in today. thanks, Eric

So im getting a driveshaft made to fit my car and i tried sticking the driveshaft in to measure it. wouldnt fit, the old duster yoke is too small for the tailshaft. I believe the trans came out of a mid 80s truck. What yoke will i need to fit it? and i would imagine it would be best just to...

So i am getting my 904/7.25 driveshaft cut and having a new one made for my 727/8.25 duster. i know i saw the answer on here before but i cant seem to find it again :( the shop is going to cut off the yoke and ujoint and weld a new tube on. can anyone give me a measurement? also, i would imagine...

i guess i've been told use F for a firmer shift too, but my tranny in my truck reccomends dex so thats what i use, the tranny dipstick will usually tell you either on the handle or the rod itself

same as previous post, i found and bought a 360 4 speed dart parts car. I am using the rear end and torsion bars and doing a complete rebuild on the k member/ disc brakes and putting them in too when i do the swap. This k member has a factory sway bar where my slant six does not.

hey, let me know if you bought the 3.55 gears. I picked some Richmond Gear 3.55 gears for mine but decided to stay with the 3.21 gears i have already. The gears have less than 800 miles and a good wear pattern. Shoot me an offer

ok, so i'm most likely doing a gear swap by myself, but i got my 8.25 rear end yesterday and it appears to have 3.23 or 3.55 gears in it (havnt opened it up yet) if it does, and i wanted to put in my sure grip carrier do i have to re-shim anything? or would it be fine if i just swapped carriers?

anyone change gears and/or carrier in a 8 1/4? im gonna be taking this task on in a while and want as much advice as i can get. How did it go?

hmm, im doing that right now actually. ive got the valve body ripped apart and cleaned on my table. just waiting on the shift kit to arrive

Hi, pulling the valve body on my 727 and ran into a problem. I got it out but it is still hanging by a rod (park?) i thought it was just supposed to come out but i keep wiggling it and nothing happens. it is an 86-87 tranny. Any ideas on how this comes out? thanks, Eric

all A body Rear ends are the same length correct? Specifically a 1968 Dart GT rear end into a 1974 Duster. Thanks

also, When i tried fully removing the valve body, it is still stuck up there by a tube (Park?) I dont really want to try yanking it out, but how do i pull it out easily?

called the dodge dealership and they said it comes out of a 86-87 Van or Truck. Thanks for trying to help out guys.

yeah, i'm sure it is a 727. And actually what i am looking for is the valve body anyways, i am adding a shift improver kit, so it's just the valve body that is going to be worked on.

yeah im almost sure thats what it is. i called B&M and they said to get the castings off the valve body, which is the only way to make sure. on the bottom reads: 4204528 13 05111 the top reads 3836648 can anyone make meaning of this?

ya know, i looked at it about 5 times and i think thats what it reads. i tried taking a picture but it doesnt turn out with my crappy camera. I'll check again.
