The shine you can get with single stage acrylic urethane can be great. I was always told the speed of the reducer can have a big effect, than is slower reducer than what you would normally use will give me depth and shine. Of course, if you are like me, no booth, get it dried before all the bugs lite is a big factor!!!!!No clear, just straight out of the gun.
My Willy’s I painted with Summit single stage and is still shiny.
If you have air, spend a few extra pennies for at least automotive paint.
I think when I painted my Willy’s a gallon of red was only like $140, plus thinner and reducer.
No clear needed.
STILL LOL---------

Don't take this wrong but it's got the right amount of ugly. ....but u seen my barracuda lol
Is that the professional high performance protection oil based enamel rustoleum?? I'm considering using the safety orange since I'm eventually painting it burnt orange anyway.

The stuff just works. All my local friends hollerin POR15 but I've used it. It's messy as heck, gets everywhere.....on your balls, in your buttcrack.....I mean everywhere. It's worse than anti-seize. Plus it's expensive.......and THEN it requires an expensive compatible top coat because it's sensitive to ultra violet light. No, I'm stickin with Rustoleum. It's badass.
Valiant Seat Recover
RRR here are some ideas for you on recovering your seats.
What if you had access to an upholstery sewing machine ?
What if you had a good matching red vinyl.
A decent shade of Red for the '64 Valiant that is acceptable.
1/2 Muslin Backed Foam to sew in the seat pleats.

Imagine this blue seat covered in red to match you '64 Valiant's interior.
Nice simple design to sew.
There you go, have fun with your project . . .
