Sounds like its purring like a kitten from here HahaEVERYTHING. haha. And still ain't perfect, but it's a lot closer.
That's a clean looking engine!!
You have the dots wrong. The dot on the cam gear should be at the 6 o'clock position NOT 12 o'clock. Crank gear is right.
It is! But there's a reason I didn't crack the throttle over an idle. Die's OR stumble's, backfire's then dies as soon as it move's off idle the least little bit. Haha. Gonna start tuning on the carb when I get home. Re-built Edelbrock 1405.Sounds like its purring like a kitten from here Haha
All good. Don't need to.But I have a question and yes I went back through and looked first...no I'm not being an ***...did you fix the cam gear and put it at 6 o'clock position? cause no matter how much timing and carb building you do the dots aren't ever going to line up just in passing when turning...Top dead center dots should face each other cam 6:00, crank 12:00.
Just wondering cause I never saw where you said yes I tore the timing plate off and fixed the gear on the cam
Rebuilt Edelbrock 1405 that is on the car has just been giving me fits. Does fine for a little bit and seems to start running out of fuel and falling flat. So I threw on a 750cfm 1407 that I got from a trade with @RustyRatRod
The junkyard 360 seems to like it! Think I'll play with it for a little while this afternoon see what happens. Thanks Rob. I'll post some pictures later.
Yeah I've been looking for that. Didn't someone here do it? I don't remember the thread, or who did it? I was hoping it was in the how to article forum. I can't find it, but it should be. I just went ahead and bought the heat sink and a Flamethrower 1.5 ohm coil. I don't really care about it looking factory for now.Seen a guy hide the hei 4 pin module in a hollowed out mopar ignition box. Makes it plug n play.
Thanks buddy appreciate you following. Unfortunately nothing's going to happen tomorrow. Even I will take Mother's Day off. HahaI cant wait to see the next installment on the scamper build thread.
Found it. I also see that you used the bracket that bolts it under the distributor. How do you like that?Seen a guy hide the hei 4 pin module in a hollowed out mopar ignition box. Makes it plug n play. Sounds like you got plenty of suitable candidates.
Oh I thought you used the bracket that screws it directly to (underneath) the distributor.Oh i didnt do the mod, i just saw it being done, and squirreled away the idea. Perfect for cars wired with electronic. Connect the wires together for the ballast, or hollow out the ballast and install a jumper wire in it.
