Yeah , them and Moccasins ain't cute and cuddly! Lol! I lived somewhere where we had a pet turkey for a while ( the owner tried to slaughter it with a dull Calvary saber) that took a minute..... Seen a few deer in the neighbors yard last week. I miss the brown swamp rabbits at last 2 places. And there's always ducks.... The sandhill cranes will come hang too. They like a lil hand out!Lol, luckily I didn't grow up where you are....gators probably aren't meant for friends

Thanks, that's one wish I have is to be living down by the river. I've seen a couple otters down there and that's a great animal. We have porcupine near by also, lots of birds , lots of turkey vultures for the summerSorry to hear about your raccoon, I know lots of people don't like them, I have no issues with them, used to have a few around my place when I lived on the bank of a quiet river, along with muskrats, beaver, turtles, deer, eagles, hawks, etc.
Pups are looking good, obviously thriving with that much weight gain.
My Friend had 5 in a metal trash can in his kitchen! They knew me as Crazy Chuck then, he said " open it, grab one, I'll clean it and cook it fer Ya" I opened it, looked in there (I was about 22 or so, and fast, also stupid) and I was Hungry. But I wasn't THAT hungry! They were all kinda curled up together at the bottom, and started moving when I opened the Galvanized lid. Now he did catch a shark off the Skyway, the filet about 2 in thick, it was damn good. Just lemon, butter, old bay, and pepperWe came across a few rattlesnakes last year hiking, my wife almost had a real heart attack.
I don't dislike them but definitely don't want to get bit by one.
I really do miss that place, it was just a small house, maybe 700 sq ft, with a 14x22 garage, but it had an incredible yard, backing on to the river, had a private golf course on the opposite bank, and exceptional neighbors. Thanks, that's one wish I have is to be living down by the river. Occasionally saw people fishing in it, no idea what if anything they might have caught, my favorite thing was putting my canoe in the water and forgetting about the world for a few hours. In the winter I would walk my dogs along the ice or just go across into the golf course and let them run. My malamute female caught plenty of rabbits in there, didn't need to feed her those days. That's awesome, probably had some decent fishing too
